There is a story. It just isn't the focus of the game. The focus is the looting. Look at any looter and you will see the same thing. The Story shapes the world, but doesn't drive it. Look at Diablo, same type of game. The story is basically, "Demons Bad, Kill Demons" There you go, Now go loot some Tombs.

Loot? You realize most games of the looting genre have more than a handful of item per class right? Destiny has 2 full sets of armor per class with weapons that continuously try to fix try again bud
-
Semantics. What you are arguing about now is the amount of loot, just because there is not a lot of stuff to get doesn't negate the fact that the game is a looter. Nice try though.
-
Ask any hardcore loot gamer, it actually does...
-
D3 actually had a complete and satisfying story line
-
You are wrong. Bungie doesn't want that to be the focus. Why fix loot caves if looting is the story? Read up and you'll see that the story band the world of destiny was the focus. And this game isn't on a 10 year life span, there are at least 3 games planned for that period of time.
-
If looting is the primary focus, why has the looting system become so broken as to be ineffective? Quantity isn't even a quality in Destiny anymore. There was a time when the lack of quality loot was made up for by shear quantity, that doesn't happen anymore.

They fixed the loot caves because they didn't want people just shooting into a cave openning. That had nothing to do with Loot, that was more about Farming. For the record I didn't agree with that patch, but I understand why they did it. As far as quantity goes, I get plenty of engrams, I got a Vault full of Legendaries and Exotics, as well as a dozen or so on each character. That is just luck though.

Well, you said it. Luck. I get no loot other than weapons parts and armor mats. All the shards I've gotten have been from dismantling armor I've bought from earning marks. Luck should never be as prevalent in determining loot as it is in this game.
