The clock hits 3:00 AM, for most people it would seem crazy to still be awake at this hour. Only for you it's the night, the night you have been waiting for, the night when that 49 becomes a 50 and you achieve supremacy in the game you have been grinding for weeks. Why have you been grinding you may ask, to prove that you are an elite amongst your peers. For this number the number 50 puts fear in the eyes of others not able to even come close to achieving such an amazing feat. But just then, as you were only one game away from 50, things turn for the worse and you loose. Say goodbye to that 49 because you've been demoted to a 48. Boom what a kick to the face, as you were so close, but now so far. Now is this where you stop playing, or do you come back with vengeance?
If you're asking what is the point of this, well the simple answer is Destiny's PvP is lacking. If you've played other FPS multiplayer I think you can relate. Why are we missing so many basic features with this game? Is this Bungie's 10 year plan, to start giving us the features we've been begging for since day 1, 5 years into the game? Now I can't answer that question, but i can tell you what simple features bungie needs to add to the game for a better experience for all Guardians.
Custom games, custom games, custom games! Where are the custom games. This is the number 1 feature that needs to be added. Simply adding custom games would open the door for so many things with Destiny. First the competitive aspect, now players could fight other teams on game battles, and possibly see its self main stage on the MLG Pro Circuit, giving the game televised publicity. The 10 year project that Destiny is, would secure its longevity giving people a reason to put countless hours into the game to be the best they can be. LANs would now be a possibility whats more fun than sniping your best friends face off and being able to see him raging right in front of you? This is one feature that would turn the game around and could save Destiny.
Capture the flag, swat, multi-team, and search and destroy, do any of these game types sound good to you? Destiny lacks to give any diversity in game modes at all. Would it honestly be so hard to giving us more diversity than 4 game types? I know we have salvage and combined arms, but which aren't terrible except they are only available some weekends. I doubt they will add anything from here on out which is really disappointing.
Shores of Time, you've just played this map 3 times in a row, wouldn't it be nice if you and your team could veto the map? Better yet what if you were put into a matchmaking lobby which allowed you to choose the next map and game type ? It may sound crazy but other games do have this feature but not Destiny. With a 500 million dollar budget, there is no excuse for such simple feature not to be implemented into this game. What if after winning a match you went up in a tier, or had some sort of rank it would benefit? The list goes on and on people. Destiny is nothing more then a raid right now. I don't see any change in the near future for this game, as they are more concerned with people buying the DLC. Good luck to everyone who is sticking with this game, but my guardian has been lost to the darkness which is Destiny itself.
