What do you mean nah, not really!? Have you been stalking my gameplay?? Anyways you can very much control the shotgun in Halo whether it means forcing it as my unused secondary or knowing where the other team has it. Past that, it may be "effective" but do you honestly think they designed the shotgun to be the primarily used weapon? I've seen kids with Invectives, found verdicts, and Judgement IVs that don't even switch weapons. Like seriously? Not to mention the shotgun is suppose to be used to dispatch the opponent that is IMMEDIATELY next to you. Bungie's words themselves, not at the range people are able to use some of these shottys. Say what you want about "reasonable tactic" certain shotguns are broken in that game, and the fact that you can run around with them the entire game is ridiculous.
