At least you can't buy them off xur for cash.........yet

Xur has murdered the bragging rights of "the kid who found truth In the raid" or "that guy who found ice breaker in a chest" and now finally, a weapon I was so looking forward to having, telling everyone how my sniper turns me invisible, and is really rare, is there for anyone who wants it, patience and time has been made available through xur as well as many other weapons that are meant to be there for only the most lucky or elite. I understand the required balance between long shift and temp gamers all feeling fulfilled but all the exotics are as common as they come now, there is no longer a special feeling that comes with finally getting that weapon you've been dreaming of. I just want a game where rare means rare and where I'm not left with the choice of which exotic to upgrade next, enough is enough. Maybe a few exotics from xur on rare occasions but at least keep some of the exotics' dignity by not pawning them off to any and everyone, a few which are desired by all and owned by the lucky few, to create pride among players again, excitement even, that makes me keep hoping. Its unfair that people who try really hard in raids, weekly nightfall strikes and other activities in destiny that enable you to get exotic weapons and gear. I do admit that I have taken advantage of xur and and now have full exotic gear for my warlock but it takes away what I was hoping from the game. The sense of accomplishment has taken away one of the key elements of the game. Nice one dod.

Xur is the game trying to balance itself out. What about those of use who can't do the raid? Or those of us who don't know enough people to do a nightfall? But the reality is this: [b]everything is random. [/b]So I could have gotten ice breaker just doing patrol. You never really earn your loot in this game except the special drops in the VoG or through exotic bounties. Bungie originally said in trailers and interviews before release that you could "tell stories about where you got that sweet loot", but the problem is bosses and strikes don't drop specific stuff. There's no boss except Atheon where you can say that they could drop 'X' loot....its unfortunate. It would be awesome if specific bosses only dropped specific stuff, then you could tell your story.

Agree. Nothing triumphant about looting exotics that most people already will have bought. By the time the dlc comes out everyone will have every exotic weapon in game..

You know I agree with this post, Xur has taken the fun out of finding an exotic from nights falls and raids. I was excited to get the P&T from the raid and I can say "Hey I got this puppy from the raid and that's my Legend." And I see someone else that has the same thing and I ask "Hey, where'd you get that gun?." And he would say " Oh this?...I bought it from Xur." "..........................." "………………......" Thanks Bungie for ruining our story of our Legends.
