Not sure if this is technically possible but it would definitely make the game truly legendary. I remember text based a MMO where extra dimensional creatures invaded regions (even town) and players would rally to push those invaders back. Characters died left and right to accomplish this. Low level characters would do what they could (heal etc) while high level characters fought. It was a community united in that moment. Good times.
