Ok I see a lot of posts by disgruntled Xbox owners, and I want to school them a bit.
Imagine you are in a Burger king. You are second in line and a man orders a burger for 5 bucks. Then I walk up to the counter and say "Wait make it a meal here's 5 more bucks" and I walk away, and he walks away with a meal he paid 5 bucks for. Now you walk up and order a Burger and pay 5 bucks. Now does that Entitle you to bitch to burger king because you paid the same price some one else did but he got a meal and you didn't? No because a 3rd party paid the extra money for his meal.
The same goes for exclusivity. Sony PAID millions for a map and strike. Whereas Microsoft did not. So why should Bungie have to reduce the price of content on the Xbox when Sony paid extra for a freebie for its players.
With that said can we please stop bitching about the DLC thanks.

Edited by llDealWithItll: 11/6/2014 3:00:14 AMThe issue here, at least with me, is ethics. This goes with all exclusive content for any game ever. It's a small but growing part of the festering wound on the game community. Integrity: Doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. What we as gamers, as a whole, not divided via console preference, are getting from this is spit on our face. Whichever console, or rather platform, if you will, receives this "special treatment", leaves the other consumers feeling betrayed. I'm not angry at other gamers. I'm tired of the punk asses in suits capitalizing in every single pathetic way possible. Exclusivity, micro-transactions, DLC, false advertising, etc etc. I've never liked exclusivity, even when it's to my benefit. The debacle that surrounds this title is a monument to the dire state that our passion, as gamers, is in. It's very sad. And for the love of god, can people stop having pissing contests about who's console is better? Just fricking play the damn thing. We're all the same, dudes. We all just want to nerd the hell out.

Edited by Xalon: 11/6/2014 6:12:31 AMIf I was second in line and a man walks up ahead of you and orders a burger for 5 bucks: 1. The guy vastly overpaid for a single burger. 2. I would be pissed because I'm waiting in line just like you and your letting some tool cut in front of us for the sole reason that you get a free burger with your overpriced fries and drink. I'm also mad at the cashier because he allowed such inconsideration as I'm hungry too, and because you felt the need to let this guy cut, you get bonus food and I'm that much hungrier because I had to wait for 2 of you (one was a late addition to the line). ...now I want a cheeseburger. Thanks. PS. Why not go with Taco Bell since they are doing the destiny PS4 promo. Would have rounded out your analogy.

As an Xbox player, I pretty much considered that either the game will be interesting enough that I'll be more than happy to wait a year for the DLC, or the game wouldn't meet up to the hype and I would lose interest in the game to care about some tiny exclusives when they became available to me. And at this time it seems the latter is the path Destiny is taking.
-
The metaphor was hard to follow and lame. But I got the jist and you drive a strong point.
-
Edited by QuasarLegacy: 11/6/2014 5:55:56 AMFor all the ps4 users we are not butthurt about the time exclusive part but the fall of 2015 is what we are concerned about. By that time who will still faithfully be playing Destiny. For that we just want the DLC when we'll actually be playing the game like we are now. We don't mind waiting 1-3 mouths for it, because we will be playing the game like we are now in the time.

Sony paid for this deal. MS didn't. how is this so hard to understand? and the thing is.....it is going to get worse unless gamers start talking with their wallets instead of being fanboys. we as gamers need to stand up to this sort of business practice. in the end it is the gamers that lose out with these exclusive deals. gamers also need to make informed decisions when purchasing games for their systems of choice. i tend to steer clear of games that do this....hence the reason i will not be buying the next tomb raider even after having played every installment of the franchise. #endexlusivity

Here's a correction to your metaphor to put this into perspective: The two men walk into the restaurant, and the first one is named Dave. The owner says "Congrats! Thanks to an anonymous benefactor, everyone named Dave gets a burger for $5!" But the next man is named Lary and the owner says "Sorry! But if your name isn't Dave you won't be allowed to have meat or lettuce with your burger. You'll get access to the meat 1 year from now, but until then you'll have to make due. That 'burger' will still cost you $5, though..." See why people would be pissed off? It doesn't feel like a complete meal, it feels like a rip off. While it might look like Dave is being rewarded for his name, to everyone else it looks like they are being penalized for not having the name Dave. Even with all the content on PS4, it seems like a really small amount of content to ask $20 for. So with even *less* content on the Xbox for the same price, it feels like a rip off. Get it now?
-
NO!!! NOW now imagine buying a new phone and after buying it, you find out that you have to wait not 1 or 2 but 9 months to get all of its features that were promised (like text messaging and 4G). Your neighbor bought the same phone for the same price, but because he has a different cell phone provider he gets all those features now. How would you feel about that?
-
If you were foolish enough to buy the Xbone, then... You get what you deserve.
-
You only think that way because you use ps4, but when you get 1 month later cod dlc then you'll start bitch'n around, well atleast you got it, in destiny xbox players will need to wait another year for the exclusive
-
Xbox has halo
-
They should b mad. Its unfair. But buiseness is buiseness and thats what sony paid for. Cant do anything by law anyways. But i see where there coming from.
-
Apple and orange comparison. But please continue to defend consumer division. While you guys argue which consoles the best when you have absolutely no stake in the claim you're just helping these companies reach in your pocket and take money they've not yet earned.
-
We get one extra strike. That's it! What is the big deal?!?
-
Doesn't anyone remember the same damn shit happening in Skyrim when Microsoft bought exclusivity rights to the DLC? Playstation players had to wait for 8 months to start getting any of it, people still played the game. It all comes in time and yes it sucks but this is what was decided by Activision via a bidding war. Bitching at Playstation Players or Bungie isn't going to solve shit. Take it to Activision.
-
Edited by Dyno: 10/30/2014 9:21:15 PMBungie made games for Apples only before they signed on to make games for Microsofts Xbox. Now they make games for everyone so my advice to the Xbox fanboys is to get over it. Wouldn't kill you to grow up a little bit someday.
-
people still struggling to understand this simple concept.. WOW
-
Your analogy is flawed. More like you walk up say, "Wait, make it a meal here's 5 more bucks, and on top of that give this other guy just the bun and pickles.. make him wait for a few days for the meat but charge him the same."
-
It's not that it's the fact that the exclusive is for a year
-
Freebie? It's not a freebie. Ps4 users should get their exclusive IN GAME CONTENT. DLC is another story. Let's put this in your perspective shall we? A man walks into a Burger King and orders a burger for $5. Another man comes and upgrades his burger to a meal. Another man walks in and orders a burger...ok so everything's handy dandy right? Now here's the good part! The first man orders dessert for $3 as does the other man who got just a burger, but the second man ONLY GETS 75% OF HIS DAMN TRIPLE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE...THAT HE PAID FULL PRICE FOR so he goes and tries to tell the manager and the manager says haha -blam!- off, have a nice day.
-
Thanks. I did not know Sony did that.
-
They could go to taco bell and win a ps4 destiny bundle, problem solved.
-
The difference is you paid for the combo but only got the burger. You can have your fries and a drink next year. It's not like cod where the other console gets it a month later. The dlc shouldn't even be offered to Xbox honestly.
-
It's not fair for the players, but I know that all this complaining will achieve nothing. OP is right; The deal was done a long time ago and there's nothing that will change it.
-
WE paid millions. So do you think bungie wouldve just not released the extra content without sony?
-
I agree and I'm a Xbox one user
