Destiny is a great game and I enjoy it a lot as do many people. As you play through the game you have many different viable ways to play to level up your character and make progress until 29. The only way to hit 30 is unfortunately through raiding.
This does not really make much sense as you allow players to play the way they want, pve or PvP to level up and then at the very end you're stuck. Strikes, Daily Missions, Weekly Events or special events don't matter, all you can do is raid to increase your level. It's very bad game design to have all the options through out the entire game and then force people into a single route at the very end.
Raid gear could still differ in a lot of other ways such as keeping primary weapons as raid only or providing pve buffs such as increased damage to different factions like hive or fallen. But there should be alternatives to raiding to hit max level.
When I heard the news with the next Iron Banner event I was excited then that excitement was immediately dashed when it was stated that there was only two pieces of gear that would have the equivalent light. The third piece you are stuck getting from the raid. How very frustrating. I have personally finished vault of glass and didn't enjoy it much, crucible is where I have my fun and I'm sure others prefer doing other things. There needs to be more ways to level up than strictly raids.
Thank you for reading this.

Well here is where you are wrong in all mmo games ther is a system of item quality. I'll use World of Warcraft for this example in world of Warcraft ther is a thing called item level it is the power of your gear etc that is basically what light is it's a marker off how good your gear is in wow you have to raid on the highest difficulty to get the highest item level you could. The fact you can only do the normal raid for the best gear is a gift. Being level 30 is something you earn I feel I earned I earned it I made 6 warlocks did the raid and deleted them to get as much gear as I possibly could. Playing pvp is to easy to get the best gear it isn't fair to have the same benefit of people who don't work their asses of for it.
