Frankly, sometimes I just want to punch a stupid Dreg in the face, I can't see why I have to waste my melee on it. It's a huge pain in the ass and sometimes it puts you in a pretty precarious position. Why not just bind the special melee to L2+Melee instead?

My opinion is that to use your special yould have to scream the attack name into your mic for everyone to hear.... its gonna be epic... XD

I must say that punching Dregs in the face (as a Titan) is very satisfying and cathartic. As a Gunslinger Hunter, my throwing knife is the only melee special that can miss. If my melee would connect and my special is off cooldown, it will use my melee instead of my special. (Which is OK since I think the melee does about the same damage as the special.) If my melee wouldn't connect, it makes me pitch the knife uselessly into an innocent, defenseless rock. It sucks, but I feel that it's a pretty fair punishment for my lack of melee skill. (I should have timed the melee better, or ran/slid in a slightly different direction.) It also helps that I can run a build focused on my melee special: pick up ammo -> quicker cooldown, second free special use, crit-kills -> no cooldown. Bladedancer Hunters' melee specials are like all the others: I can't miss with them. As a Bladedancer, if I don't want to waste my melee special on a trash mob, I don't close to melee range. If I'm in melee range with a trash mob, either: 1) I put myself there, accepting that my special will go on cooldown, or 2) it's a panic situation (stealth Vandals, surprise Thrall charge, dry clip vs sword-Knight/bullet-sponge) and I want the special to proc for more damage anyway.

Is that really a problem? Are you having trouble with PVE?

I disagree.
