As frustrating as it is for xbox users not having any exclusive content found on Playstation (extra pvp map, extra strike, extra exotics) and also all the PS4 events like the the ninja bounty, it must be really frustrating for all the creative people at Bungie to have the execs get in the way of their creation.
Now it was announced today that Playstation will be getting another exclusive strike with the new dlc (and I can only assume same will go with the House of Wolves dlc) increasing the number of strikes to 9. This sucks because xbox owners who have spent the same amount of money on destiny and the season pass only get 7 and strikes are a key point in the replayability of Destiny. Bungie messed up because of the deal with Playstation they are hurting their customers on xbox which will result in player drop off and thus not being able to sustain the number of players desired for their 10 year plan. I really like this game and I am an xbox one owner who is starting to feel the fatigue. With all the great options for games, I doubt i will be able to make it 1 full year to get the content that shouldn't have been taken away in the first place.
PS4 exclusives only benefit Playstation (not Playstation owners) because its designed to get people who either don't have a system and are using this game as a justification to purchase a console or the people who have both to buy it for their system. Gamers lose because of all these deals (Xbox lost on Destiny but PS lost on Tomb Raider worse imo), Programmers/Artist/Writer lose because the things they worked hard on are purposely not distributed to everyone. Sony and Microsoft win because people are forced to choose.
I wish the console wars were more about developing new exclusive ips (Gears, Last of Us) and not cutting content (Tiger Woods releasing 19 dlc courses for $50 same day the game came out) or timed releases (cod). As a side note, retailer exclusives need to stop too.
I hope bungie is addressing this issue and coming up with ways to rectify the exclusivity mistake. A few suggestions I have are:
- xbox events (along with ps events)
- additional free weapons/ armor (diluting the benefits ps owners get)
- additional free add on strikes or variants (different enemy placement would do wonders)
- modified strike playlist (playlist should have special currency and maybe less weapon xp)
---- example: only green/purple ammo drops from enemies (rocket strike would be so fun)
---- example: weapon type buffs (scout riffle would be OP for the strike)
- more venders that accept vanguard marks (maybe some that accept a third currency that you get from my modified strike playlist suggestion)
- confirmation that after the contract is over ps and xbox will have the same content
Please feel free to add on to my list and hopefully bungie will fix this so that we don't see this as common business practices in the future.

Well, Microsoft got ALL CoD DLCs before playstation and you guys had halo which is a million dollar franchise. Get over yourself. Playstation is the future. Better hardware and software capabilities. It surpassed XB1 in sales on its first day by 21 million dollars. There are obviously more people playing ps3/4 in the world so that's why it's all PS exclusive. More people is more money. If you want it so bad then buy a ps4. More exclusive titles are coming out for PSN anyway. Most people only bought an XB1 because they are diehard xbox fans, not because they saw what it could do. Don't be angry at bungie. They are doing what any business would do in this situation- making the obvious choice to get more money. It's not personal, it's just business.

QQ more. Reported for whining.

This has been a common business practice since they started multi-platforming games. How much extra content have you gotten for ALL of your game collection that was ONLY offered by gamestop. This is how companies distinguish themselves from everyone else. Otherwise the other option is complete console exclusivity, which you would be even more crying about. So how about instead of crying about it, you just get over it and yourself. Its 1 strike, lol. And im on the 360 so dont tell me about how its easy for me to say while I play them because its not the case. You are still getting a full bundle of new stuff to do, so just shut up and play it.
-
Yea, once the division comes out good bye destiny lol
-
Look on the brightside. Xbox owners have more game time than ps
-
i don't have a problem with exclusive titles. Gears of War and Last of Us were tuned perfect because they were only on one platform. I also don't really have an issue with cosmetics being exclusive. What i have a problem with is changing the overall experience based on platform. Destiny is not the same game on ps as it is on xb. xb has less content forcing it to be more repetitive and is exactly the same price in the store!!!
-
Because ps4 is superior
-
Just to throw out a factor that nobody else has mentioned. Bungie has been dealing with Microsoft for a long time, if I had to guess i'd say Bungie is sick of Microsoft's crap.
-
You didn't own an Xbox and COD at the same time did you? If you didn't, let me fill you in: 1. As Xbox Owners, we received stuff PS didn't get. 2. As Xbox Owners, we received timed exclusives in DLC ahead of PS. This model is commonplace now. IT SUCKS!!!! I HATE IT AND WISH IT WAS DIFFERENT!!! I WANT MY DESTINY CONTENT IN FULL JUST LIKE YOU!!!! That's how I really feel inside... but once it was announced in June that PS would receive those exclusives, those of us who were paying attention at least, knew what we were getting into when we bought it. I'm just dealing with it, as much as I dislike it. And no, Bungie doesn't owe you equal content, they announced all of this half a year ago.

Lol umad
-
Having exclusive DLC is a jumping the shark moment in the gaming industry
-
Dude you guys had Halo exclusive forever. its our turn so suck it
-
Quit trying to be positive, Bungie won't change dick. Apparently it wasn't enough to get exclusive content at release, xbox players have to pay the same amount for less content for the entire life of the game. It's fine though, after I trade this turd in I will never buy another new game from Bungie. They've misrepresented this game at every turn, have done nothing but bungle running the servers, and they really seem to enjoying screwing over their fans.
-
I'm past the point of caring anymore. I've completely accepted that bungie has -blam!-ed myself and every other Xbox player after supporting them for a decade. Thanks a lot -blam!- heads.
-
Sony paid money for the content. You will get the content autumn 2015. This was announced long before the game was even released.
-
I'll add to your list: Master Chief Collection. It is sad that I'm hella more excited for remastered games from Bungie's golden days then I am for the new "content" they are releasing (read also: unlocking parts of the disc I already bought.)
-
Yeah i got another pointless strike that im not gonna play.
-
yea they pretty much said -blam!- the fans who supported us and deal with it
-
Play station got noting else let them enjoy the little they get it's bad enough they gotto play with those baby controllers lol
-
I'll go grab the Kleenex......again.....
-
There are Xbox exclusives it is just harder to get them and requires more luck
-
I wish it were not like that as a PS4 player. Main reason: Xur won't sell exclusive content. I know its selfish but I'm being honest.
-
- xbox events (along with ps events) - additional free weapons/ armor (diluting the benefits ps owners get) - additional free add on strikes or variants (different enemy placement would do wonders) - confirmation that after the contract is over ps and xbox will have the same content
1 and 4 yes i can understand 2 and 3 is seems like your upset a different platform should not have their money matter when they pay for additional content which won't happen.

Past COD's payback time, nuff said. still it would be nice if we all got the same, these companies are trying to sell consoles though
