As frustrating as it is for xbox users not having any exclusive content found on Playstation (extra pvp map, extra strike, extra exotics) and also all the PS4 events like the the ninja bounty, it must be really frustrating for all the creative people at Bungie to have the execs get in the way of their creation.
Now it was announced today that Playstation will be getting another exclusive strike with the new dlc (and I can only assume same will go with the House of Wolves dlc) increasing the number of strikes to 9. This sucks because xbox owners who have spent the same amount of money on destiny and the season pass only get 7 and strikes are a key point in the replayability of Destiny. Bungie messed up because of the deal with Playstation they are hurting their customers on xbox which will result in player drop off and thus not being able to sustain the number of players desired for their 10 year plan. I really like this game and I am an xbox one owner who is starting to feel the fatigue. With all the great options for games, I doubt i will be able to make it 1 full year to get the content that shouldn't have been taken away in the first place.
PS4 exclusives only benefit Playstation (not Playstation owners) because its designed to get people who either don't have a system and are using this game as a justification to purchase a console or the people who have both to buy it for their system. Gamers lose because of all these deals (Xbox lost on Destiny but PS lost on Tomb Raider worse imo), Programmers/Artist/Writer lose because the things they worked hard on are purposely not distributed to everyone. Sony and Microsoft win because people are forced to choose.
I wish the console wars were more about developing new exclusive ips (Gears, Last of Us) and not cutting content (Tiger Woods releasing 19 dlc courses for $50 same day the game came out) or timed releases (cod). As a side note, retailer exclusives need to stop too.
I hope bungie is addressing this issue and coming up with ways to rectify the exclusivity mistake. A few suggestions I have are:
- xbox events (along with ps events)
- additional free weapons/ armor (diluting the benefits ps owners get)
- additional free add on strikes or variants (different enemy placement would do wonders)
- modified strike playlist (playlist should have special currency and maybe less weapon xp)
---- example: only green/purple ammo drops from enemies (rocket strike would be so fun)
---- example: weapon type buffs (scout riffle would be OP for the strike)
- more venders that accept vanguard marks (maybe some that accept a third currency that you get from my modified strike playlist suggestion)
- confirmation that after the contract is over ps and xbox will have the same content
Please feel free to add on to my list and hopefully bungie will fix this so that we don't see this as common business practices in the future.

Call of Duty has the same deal with Microsoft. Would you be advocating as strongly for PS owners for DLC and content available to Xbox before it's available on PS4?
-
The Dust palace is the most annoying strike imo. Xbox players are lucky that they don't have to go back to orbit every time they get it in a strike playlist.
-
For over ten years xbox has had this game called halo, ever hear of it? One of the biggest game series all on xbox. Now that both consoles have destiny xbox owners(not all of you) are crying about ps4 getting all the limited time dlc that you will end up getting next year.
-
It was made very clear the the PS would have Destiny exclusives. If you wanted the content and planned on playing a lot of Destiny you should of got a PS instead of an Xbox. 3 to 1 people already have and are enjoying the items and strike. I'm off to play on dust palace with my hawk moon. Cheers.

Dont be mad bro! Let it go, let it go, im one with the wind and snow. Xbox user i am, angry i am not hmmmmm!
-
Things like this hurt " ALL " gamers , no matter what console that a person plays . If gamers on consoles would just unite together , as one voice , this kind of business practices from console makers and game developers would come to a complete halt .
An Activision press release additionally stated that exclusive content for the two Destiny expansion packs (The Dark Below and House of Wolves) will remain exclusive until at least Fall 2015 (there was no mention as to how long exclusive launch items will remain exclusive). Source: http://investor.activision.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=857947
From 2013, you're welcome

I take it your an Xbox player right? Let's say that all of this exclusive content went to Xbox players instead of Playstation players. Would you have still made this thread? No you wouldn't have. Im definately against exclusive game content to 1 console. But Xbox users has been getting exclusive content on many games for many years now, not just COD. And ive never seen abunch of Playstation users complain nor have i seen Xbox users say that it's unfair. But......When Playstation gets something exclusive from a multi-plat game now it's the end of the world. Honestly, Xbox fans should not even be agry at this, the DLC content is freakin shit anyway. It's 3 missions that are most likely going to take place in areas we have already been in. And it's the same concept everytime. Go here / Scan this / Defend from 3 waves. And the strikes are pretty much the same thing, just with a bigger boss at the end. As for the raid, that is the only thing that is keeping this game alive in my opinion. Knowing the shit content that we are going to get, i wouldn't even be mad if i were an Xbox player right now.

I take comfort in the fact that Sony Ponies won't get to play MCC. I would rather play games that I already know and love than play dlc that I already know isn't going to be worth my time/money.
-
Have an issue grab a tissue.
-
The fact that there would be PS exclusive content was known prior to the release of this game. If you bought this game knowing that, I'm not sure why you feel this isn't right. While we as gamers don't like the practice of console exclusive material, it's something that we'll continue to see, since money talks.
-
I hope in years past you were advocating for Halo on the PS3, PlayStation timed exclusive CoD DLC, Killer Instinct to come to PS4 ....no?
-
its funny when MS has the exlusive rights its fine... but when Sony has them the whole world is -blam!-ed up..... Its called being hypocritical.... I agree content needs to stop being exclusive, even if its just timed exclusive, for the entire industry..... all this does is produce gas for these console wars.... Honestley i wish consols would just become like pcs, you buy the nambrand you want and get specail features to that, but you can put in any game disc and play
-
You can always go play Titanfall!
-
Edited by JayRad: 10/29/2014 9:33:12 PMWon't hurt them a bit. PS would have paid plenty for rights to exclusive content. All bungie did was go out to market. All it shows is that PS were willing to spend more than Xbox. Feel sorry for my xbox guardians but I also love the smell of capitalism in the morning. Edit* why do people always resort to declaring something illegal when all that is happening is that some other people have some things they don't.
-
If we have to pay for ps exclusives after buying the expansion packs, I'M GONNA BE PISSSSSSSSED! Lol
-
I don't think a lot of people understand why this additional content exclusivity is vastly different than timed exclusives and whole exclusives. With a timed exclusive, you don't get the content until a predetermined amount of time after it's been released on the "main" platform, so you pay the same price for the same amount of content. When it's an exclusive game altogether, it's basically the same thing; paying the same price for the same amount of content ($0 for 0 content essentially). But when it's a situation like Assassin's Creed has been doing for years -- giving free DLC for one platform -- or what Bungie is doing now -- withholding a piece of content that is priced equally on both platforms -- it's just flat out ripping people off. If I had known beforehand that the expansions would yield me less content, I would not have bought the Limited Edition of the game. I was going to buy the game a second time for Xbox One (currently own 360), but after finding out about The Dark Below, I'm gonna spend my money on something more worth my time. It's sad to see Bungie turn their backs on the community that literally made them who they are, all for an extra paycheck from a hopelessly desperate company. No matter what platform you play on, this is just wrong, and honestly should be illegal.
-
No xbox player complained when they got the cod dlc's early and halo exclusively lol
-
Playstation is better in every way. That's why we are getting the exclusives
-
I read another exclusive dlc, an. All I have to say is that I'm honestly hurt. That's the only word I have for it. I eagerly anticipated this game, I can forgo some weapon or skins.. But this game is sorely lacking content as it is as Xbox users get less!? What did I do? Coz it's me (the general Xbox player) that feels like they are paying the price. I hope all the Sony money feels good because you are going to have to build some golden-gate bridges to reach your Xbox players. It's just building a huge mass of ill-will.
-
this isn't Activision, I'm sure they'd happily have just delayed it for Xbox all together like they do call of duty, but Bungie and microsoft have a serious grudge, microsoft -blam!-ed them over and now they're paying for it, yeah it will hurt destiny, but I feel like this is bungie hitting their rebellious teen phase.
-
How is this any different to what Xbox have been doing for years? Xbox fans are now butthurt. I've never on any forum, seen PS players moan about this as much as Xbox players are now. I'm no fan boy. I have a PS4, an Xbone and a gaming PC. Save your dough, buy more than one platform. Never have this problem again.

Edited by Nanowielder: 10/29/2014 9:04:18 PMI don't see why were not getting the same content for the same price this is extortion bungie wont be getting my money for this Dlc and the funny thing is ive just listened to a song that says "destiny is aggravating me!"
HI
-
From a fellow xbox user, deal with it..it is not the end of the damned world it is 2 strikes and a couple guns.
-
Edited by ShadowFax00: 10/29/2014 8:46:57 PMPlaystation isn't getting exclusive exotics in the dlc, just a strike. Edit: also, all the ps exclusives are coming to Xbox by fall 2015.

Why you mad You xbox user have this bullshit with Xbox 360 all over the god damn place
