There has just been an update to alter the game where some may be unhappy with partially while others may have opposite or even mixed feelings. Nevertheless, Destiny is plagues with MANY issues from glitches, exploits to basic problems like not having enough room to store all of the items you collect even if you make sure you have no rare items between your 3 'Create a Class' slots (obviously most likely applying to those who are still playing, as well as those who have dedicated their free time to Destiny).
The above can be talked about for hours on end with no one ever truly being happy and/or all problems never being fixed with out it actually directly being anyones fault.
With the above mentioned, I think there is one issue in the game that is one of the biggest issues that currently effects players and will continue to effect players through all the DLC which is released, and so on. Before I even mention it, I will assume that Bungie is reading this (or high ups/Activision reps) and go ahead to state that finding a solution to this issue or even some middle ground, will no doubt keep people playing Destiny longer than not dealing with this issue or just ignoring it.
The algorithm behind the RNG (drop of items) is currently not coded the way it should be OR it is coded in a way that it was not meant to be 100% random as to allow actions or other things let it alter the RNG drop of items, but is not explained to the community or it is not currently working properly enough to let players know what they could do to alter it if it was working. Now I could go on and on regarding this problem, how it does not benefit to play well at all in the Crucible, to how people who tend to acquire an Exotic item once, then have high odds of getting that same item again multiple times, to the fact that people can acquire all their Raid (VoG) armor without even completing the Raid in 1 or 2 attempts (aside from the helm) while players like myself can play the raid every week with 3 different classes and not have 3 pieces of raid armor. It is more beneficial to create 3 classes that are the same rather than create 3 of each class (which is what I have done and the way it was probably intended).
Rather then complaining about this, demanding an answer, or just bringing up problem after problem while Bungie has for one reason or another decided not to address as an immediate problem (still not putting any blame realizing issues like these can be embedded in the NET coding or deep within the game, or realizing money is not available for this ATM, or that decisions might be made from a person(s) which feel differently about it -- I will offer an alternative that can solve a lot of peoples issues they may have with Destiny.
As far as I know trading items with other players was actually originally in the game, which tells me that it was a feature that was INTENDED to be a part of the vision of Destiny. I also know for a fact that it is a feature which is basically a necessity in any MMO/MMORPG, any game that is social while having what appears to be an RNG drop system behind the loot in the game. Regardless of what genre Destiny is considered... the loot system is practically identical to any classic MMORPG while even some specific MMO's or MMORPG, or even games that are whatever else you may label Destiny have things to alter the drop rate of items like times played something or beaten an enemy, to a set item that drops, to never being able to obtain a loot drop if you have the item currently equipped. ALL OF THESE ARE IN GAMES, I AM NOT JUST MAKING THIS UP. Then there is the fact that Purple Engrams have been made a very rarity to ever come across, yet if you are lucky enough to come across one that is an armor piece, you may as well consider it a couple of Shards as once reaching level 20, having already equipped all purple gear... that purple armor engram can in NO WAY advance your light level, nor will it likely differ from ANYTHING you just purchase with Vanguard or Crucible marks from a faction. Weapon engrams, great I guess... armor engrams ...extremely rare for no reason at all.
Apologies for getting off topic. Trading can help people acquire an item(s) in which they have been struggling since the games release or the release of the Vault of Glass. If you ask me, I do not see that player quitting Destiny after getting the item. I do see people quitting Destiny (LITERALLY) because they can not acquire specific items. This is again something that will continue through any update or DLC added if this is not changed or trading is added. (I personal do not care if people find a way to duplicate items with the addition of a trading feature) If the ONLY reason trading has not been added... then that really will upset me. Since in comparison to other issues, duplicating items would be a drop in the bucket. However there is an obvious way to not fully add the trading route, but find some middle ground all while avoiding the problem of duplication all together. Simply by having a gifting feature to where I can send someone something (1 item), they will receive ONLY when they choose to accept that item into their inventory. Until they do that the sender can always cancel or take back what they have sent. This simple feature will ensure that there is NEVER an item in TWO PLACES at the SAME TIME. That is what causes people to be able to duplicate via glitch/exploit.
To those that agree, see some positive things from the addition of one of these features. PLEASE use the poll! If not, go ahead and choose the third option... but I can assure anyone who does not want this to be the first, foremost and most important thing Bungie should be working on/adding to the game NEXT.... I am far from the only person that would like to here why that is. I also have little hope for the games future if the initial issues is not altered or one of the above features is not added. Even if it means that it will be coming to the game but not for a time at a later date... I think that the community AT THE VERY LEAST deserves to know whether it will ever be added so I can delete all of these Raid pulse rifles that are frankly just taking up space now if Trading/Gifting will never be added.
Apologies to any that disagree with anything I have mentioned. Please do not delete this post for whatever reason as even if the poll is all that remains... the community deserves to voice their opinion as to what they think needs to be the first and foremost thing being worked on to add within the game.

Tl;dr I do have a vex mythoclast that I would like to sell for $20, Pay pal or xbox live code ok. ;)
-
I'm all in favour for this, multiple exotics I'd flog for £ via paypal.
-
It would destroy destiny plain and simple. Why make it even easier to get gear, when its so god damn easy right now?
-
At this point I'd say it doesn't matter. They are already giving away level 31, Crota weapons, and all CE armor. Yesterday I farted and a third set of raid gloves flew out of my ass.
-
At least.let us do One item.to a friend for the holidays

With the rampant cheesing your post brings up a good point. I wonder how many loop holes would be found with a trading system. On a side note, last night I was playing control and a level 10 Titan had rockets at the beginning of the match, and quite frequently before heavy ammo dropped. Since you can't use synthesis in the crucible it would seem people have already figured out how to do some nodding/hacking -_-

I didn't vote because I'm unsure. I have been extremely lucky with all 3 of my characters. I have 30 on my Hunter and Titan, and my Warlock is 29 and only missing boots. I have every raid weapon including the Vex Mythoclast and I have 2/3 raid helmets (Hunter and Warlock.) I will admit I play a lot and I do run the raid on every character every week. I also complete most every vanguard bounty on every char every day. Whether these contribute to my RNG chances, I have no clue at all. All I know us that there are people in my group that have done it just as much as I have and all they have gotten are 7 Epilogues, 3 Corrective Measures and 4 pairs of raid gloves. I feel for those people, that's so lame.

Bungie have said no trading so I'm not sure why we keep harping on this.
-
I don't think it should have a trade or gift system. However if a trading system we're to be introduced it would have to an "Equal trade" system so people can just stockpile legendary and exotics and give to little noobs cause I do know people would do that

I disagree with trading. At first I was all for it, but in order to get to those high light levels, 28+, it's going to be a grind. I mean if somebody has been hardcore grinding and got a bunch of raid weapons/gear or exotics, and they were able to trade it to a friend who just got to level 20 and does not understand the hard work put into getting the gear/arnor, it's not fair. I understand the frustration for the so called random drops, but hey, we got plenty of time before the dlc is out to get that raid gear/weapon. If you have duplicates, don't fret - those are more ascendant shards and energies... If you're maxed out with the raid gear at 30, then the grind can continue by leveling up the duplicates, so then they are worth more ascendant materials, which will be useful when the dlc is released and we actually need those materials again. I wish the raid drops (6 raids with Titan and only on 6th I finally got 1 piece of raid armor)were less random and more rewarding, however, the game was made a certain way, and this bullshit on destiny catering to a certain trend of players thoughts is bullshit. Did I say bullshit enough? The game is great the way it is. There have been countless man hours put into these algorithms and weapon/armor stats. Stop crying for patches and buffs. When u finally get those guns that you were calling overpowered and asked to be nerfed, you're gonna slap yourself because u wish u had it the way it was intended to be used. Aw.. Other people had it before you? Should make u grind harder to get it yourself. There are just too many crybabies on this forum man. No offense. I understand the frustration and struggle, but we are not the makers of this game.. Why the hell are we gonna shout at them an pressure them into doing it via mob mentality? It's not fair to bungie since that takes value away from the masterpiece they created. I mean, we all are on their app right? This game made me download psn app as well. I could go on...

Edited by TheGrimBunny: 10/29/2014 4:05:27 PMIf you answered "No.." please post if you DO NOT PLAY THE RAID or YOU HAVE LEVEL 30 ARMOR. Well actually I doubt any of those people would have the audacity to comment... so I will let everyone who reads this think for themselves.

Lol I'm actually have good luck with weapons not armor though :(

Your poll is completely invalid. Try making all the options neutral despite what you want. Aka having "I'm lucky enough as it is" tacked on to "no I don't want trading" is completely ridiculous. There are plenty of us who are not lucky with RNG as of yet but despise the idea of open trading.

I would at least like to see fire team trading in the sense that any drops or rewards that take place while grouped with other people can be traded within the group for a specified amount of time during or after the activity in which the drops occurred. However, I do think a full-on unrestricted trade system could be problematic and I am sure I am not the only one who has seen other games suffer from a game-items-for-real-$$$ 'black market'. I definitely would like to see trading but with limitations to prevent a ridiculous third party money market and problems that come along with it. Just my opinion, of course.

How is it an "important necessity"? There just isn't enough items in game to even need trade. Any trade/gift can be exploited anyways. You can still dup gifted items if the right system isn't used. Bungie can't even stop a boss from falling off a cliff. Do you think they can make a trade system that would get exploited?
-
I noticed another poll which asks the question whether trading should be added, however I believe that the addition of a gifting feature in mine along with the words I have posted deserve a look from both the community and Bungie.
