Playstation gets another exclusive strike until fall 2015. my condolences Xbox players. It looks like Sony really spent a shit ton of money for exclusivity.
Edit 1: yeesh, people are assuming I'm on xbox... would it kill ya to not assume and just look at my profile?
Edit 2: wow people still think this is a whine post. Those who do are idiots. I typed 3 sentences. The first was stating a fact. The 2nd was me expressing my sorrow for xbox people. The 3rd was me thinking Sony really spent a shit ton of money on exclusivity.
-
It's funny because Xbox did this with so many other games, but when Sony does it then it's a crime.
-
So yeah, I'm a playstation player. (I'm pretty sure it proves that on my account right?) And looking at this dlc, I'm really hyped for it. And Xbox players, although I wouldn't be killing myself over not getting one strike, I do think it's pretty unfair that you're paying the same money and not getting access to your strike until fall 2015. But hey, if you look at the bright side, and you take into account that it's PROBABLE that playstation players will get exclusive stuff in the other dlc's, it'll be LIKE you're getting one big free dlc in fall 2015!!! Eh?? Eh?? (Trying to cheer yous up here :/ )

Edited by Kafuu Chino: 10/29/2014 7:33:33 PMSucks that I wasted money on content I'll have to wait a whole year to actually play... I knew some of the content would be exclusive, and I was fine with that, but I never expected the expansion to be so minuscule. So gating off one of the two more replayable pieces of content kind of upsets me.
-
Sunset Overdrive looks really good though lol So there's that. XP
-
Did xbox get a game recently that playstation did not? I don't really understand why you're crying. Microsoft and Sony are always looking for an edge to sell more consoles. If you don't like it then buy both.
-
This doesn't bother me one bit. Once the MCC comes out this game will no longer be the first and foremost on my list. This is how my roster looks for November... #1: MCC #2:Shadow of Mordor #3:Destiny #4: CoD AW
-
At least we get the DLC at the same time. Playstation has to wait a month every year to get there's lol.
-
I have decided that it's unlikely I'll keep playing this game beyond the House of Wolves DLC (mostly because I already paid for it). Considering how little content there is in this game already, it's really pretty punishing to the Xbox players to deprive them of any portion of what content there actually is. When Dark Below comes out, Sony players will have 8 strikes, while Xbox players have 6. That's 33% more strike content at a time when me (and I assume other players) are already *BLAM*-ing sick to death of running the same 5 strikes we currently have over and over and over again.
-
I can understand the frustration of missing out on a Strike. I personally think timed dlc and exclusivity is dumb. I will say this though. The armor we got is rare quality and comes from the tiger strikes. If you're at that point, you probably don't need rare gear, you need or already have legendary armor. The multiplayer level is meh, but isn't a huge deal to miss out on. The exclusive strike with the flayers is the worst strike. In fact other than the psion flayers, it's all repeat content of one of the story missions. The only thing that we got and are any good are the weapons. Monte Carlo is a beast and Hawkmoon is in my opinion the best hand cannon in the game. If this trend keeps up, the new exclusive strike won't be a huge deal.
-
i honestly could care less. i didn't even know that PS players had extra guns and and extra strike mission until yesterday.
-
Bungie sold halo exclusively to Microsoft. This is to make up for those of us who had to buy both consoles. Learn to wait, because some of us didn't even get the privilege of being able to wait.
-
Nah it's fine being an xbox player. We'll be getting MCC in about 2 weeks and then we won't have to bother with Destiny anymore. On the other hand, if I was a PS player I'd be pretty mad that Sony has thrown so much money at this heap of shit that no one will be playing in a couple of weeks.
-
Edited by Darknal: 10/29/2014 2:32:37 PMBefore people start using the argument "Xbox has Halo, COD DLC etc", the discussion here, is not exclusives. It's paying the same for less content. It costs Playstation players NOTHING for Xbox players to play Halo. PS players don't need to pay any of their money. Same goes with PS exclusives. However, Xbox and PS are being charged the same and one of them gets LESS. This is the discussion. Not titles than affects no-ones wallets.
-
if you haven't you are entitled to one refund a year from MS on any purchase you made. I usually don't condone it on simple things but this seems a bit outrageous on Sony, Bungie, and Activision's parts if it were a 30 day or even 2 month exclusivity I see no problem but given the lack of content in the game itself I highly doubt that the content would be viable a year from now as populations will diminish by that time and most likely will significantly diminish on X1 after 11/11/14 for the obvious reasons.
-
I didn't care last gen when it was the other way around and I don't care now.
-
As an XB1 player, I really regret buying the season pass. I knew there would be some exclusive content to PS, but to hold out on strikes...ugh. Strikes are a huge part of the endgame. I told myself after Gears of War 3 that I would never buy a season pass again. I just trusted Bungie. Foolish me I suppose. And also, the issue isn't PS having exclusive content, it's the fact that they are charging the same price for less content. I know a lot of people will bring up CoD, but I would gladly wait an extra month to get all the content, then buy part of it and have to wait a year to get access to all of it.
-
It doesn't matter if you are a xbox or ps player, nobody will be playing this game on fall 2015
-
Edited by Mr_Curb: 10/29/2014 5:02:13 PMWon't matter too much... most of us will have something better to play before we get the content in 2015... glad I didn't buy the dlc in advance and waste money on something I have to wait another year to unlock fully. Also, I'm not getting a PS4 and deal with all the disconnects and server problems just for a few perks. I haven't had any trouble with that stuff on my Xbox One.
-
I'm getting it. But giving PS4 an exclusive strike is stupid especially with so many people already frustrated at the lack of content. That money in the pocket is going to end up alienating a lot of people on Xbox.
-
Given that I bought Destiny for my PS4 because of said exclusive content that was announced months before the game launched, I'm happy with it. It's hard for me to feel sorry for Xbox players when they are getting the next Tomb Raider as a timed exclusive and they want to bitch about not getting a strike or two.
-
I thought it always sucked to be an Xbox player?? Just kidding, just kidding! I'm a PS4 player and like the fact that we do get exclusives, but making Xbox owners wait a whole stinkin' year is a bit overboard. I can't imagine how much money Sony must've given Bungie to get them to agree to this.
-
You realize that Xbox has had way more exclusive content than Playstation in the past right?
-
But but but... MCC in 14 days! #weback Then we can rejoice in 65 GB of content for the price of a single game. Activision/Bungie could learn a thing or two... When you sell your soul to the devil, you typically flush your past accomplishments down the toilet.
-
wow, the amount of hate and butthurt is insane on these forums... I can't wait until the majority of these "fickle" Destiny players leave for COD, etc... it will be a much more pleasant time in here...
-
Oh no, a strike. WAHHHHHHHH WAHHHHHHHH WAHHHHHHH
seriously though, what will you all complain about tomorrow?
-
I figured this would happen. Idk why everyone is making a big deal about it. When the game was released and PS got an exclusive strike I assumed the next couple of dlcs will have timed exclusive strikes.
