I've only met one other player that actively used his mic while playing. Is Destiny just full of strong silent types? Or is it bad manners to use a mic anymore? <_> I'm so used to other games and mic spam. It almost feels like in-game, outside of forum-based clans/groups and existing friends , we have a rather...antisocial community. It makes me shy to ever reach out to strangers. I don't want to be a pain in the arse, haha.
How about you folks? What are your thoughts on mic use in Destiny?

Hell - I thought one of the biggest complaints about Destiny was lack of chat. I actually just picked up a PS4 as my first PS, and this is the first multiplayer game I have tried. Weird yeah, but I am older and all the attitude, dissing and whatnot really is off-putting. I suppose the mics work in a Fireteam? Never really tried... Or as was said the PS Party option. I have the crappy one that came with the PS4, and a good pairof headphones with a mic, but rarely use the mic, or the h-phones... Hey I'm dumber'n a box a rocks on games... But still just wanna have some fun.

I always use PLAYSTATION's party chat

I prefer the silence. A wave and dance session is plenty for me.

Edited by ArcTrooper 5555: 10/29/2014 3:59:15 AMI will tell you only if you perform the following ritual: 1. Grow a long beard 2. Shave it off 3. /sigh If the Destiny forum wasn't so swamped in whining about the patch right now, I wouldn't have tried placing the thread elsewhere. Fixed for the OCD sufferers among us. No insults were needed folks. Just got done working a 18 hour shift.

Seems like common sense is pretty rare for desticles Your post contains something related to destiny therefore where does it go? In #destiny was that so hard to think?

I'm a solo player. By that I mean thus is my first game ever with a social aspect. I do own a mic, it came with a controller set, but I don't know how to use it. It'd feel weird to have a mic in my ear on the off chance I'm on a fireteam or something, I wear glasses and it'd be uncomfortable. Now if from the start everytime you were teamed with someone, for strikes or crucible or whatever, or everytime you did something co-op in game like a public event, voice chat was there I'd probably use it. It'd be useful to be able to say 'I'm hanging back from the walker, trying to get 9000 xp without dying' or ask 'I'm doing bounty x, anyone else?' In crucible. But I think only people who use mics are those coming into destiny with friends already.

Related: I wish folks my level and lower would message me asking for help, honestly. I like hanging out while I game. Not usually a solo player, at all.
