No matter how many you have on your Fireteam... the "gate" or stay behind team needs to be fully leveled Sunsinger Warlocks (think "Self Revive"). When Times Vengeance is about up (say 3 second mark), your gate team jumps to their death. Atheon teleports remaining players and Warlock gate team self revive.
Rinse.... Repeat!
**I'm not taking credit for this awesome strategy because it wasn't my idea, I saw this is how a two man team beat the raid legit. It works and it is not cheating because you are strategically using your character's subclass. Full credit right here:

**EDIT: Seems a lot of you are butt hurt that I posted this but no one is forcing you to use it. I know how to use the relic but there are a lot of people out there who don't and also don't want to and it isn't my place to force them. This is one of many different strategies a team could choose to use or not. There is no need to post how 'stupid' the idea is.... or how bad those of us who might use it are, we probably won't be playing on your 'better than everyone else' team anyway. Have a nice day :)

Here's how you strategically work around the random teleportation in the raid. This method is 100% fool-proof and guaranteed to work.
EVERYONE LEARN HOW TO USE THE F*CKING RELIC.
-
Does not work, being dead no longer exempts you from being teleported.

Edited by Daveee x 17: 10/30/2014 3:57:15 PMCommunication, that's all to it

Beat hard raid 3 times today, not very hard at all. Especially when your raid team (including me) is lvl 30 and has beaten hard 12+ times. Only hard part for us is us not dying on the jumping puzzle. Oh and actually getting the Mythoclast is the hardest part, maybe I won't have to beat it 15 times on hard to get it. Dang RNG.
-
What more can you expect from a girl, who according to her account, hasn't even played the game...? Lol
-
Or better else... have 3 furthest people teleported. Hunter never get the love they need... with all that cheesing NOT needing hunters and fingers pointing that hunters are OP PvP...
-
Atheon is known to teleport a dead person now so do not rely on this... Anyone who has done the raid completely post patch has run into a situation where he only teleports 2 people even though there are 4+ people alive, that is because the randomly teleported people are no longer restricted to those alive. It is not another glitch, rather, part of the new experience.
-
This is super creative and I really want to try this strat out. However I feel kinda bad for warlocks goin from "Yes they are needed to beat the boss" to "Okay its almost time to kill yourself". Also quick question for clarification, will the warlocks reviving completely negate the wipe dispite of having the "stuck in the dark corners of time" message? Because I'm concerned that the wipe might happen anyway, like how even though someone picked up the relic from the previous dead holder, or when you destroy the last oracle and you succumb to them anyway. You know where I'm getting at?
-
I agree. Gamers are going to be gamers. They're going to find a way to get around using "the way you're supposed to" and do it in a totally different, creative way because they're gamers. We try every possible method that pops in our head occasionally when we've died for the 57th time. Especially if the team can't keep up. I don't have any problem with someone finding a new, unique and different way to get the job done. I applaud that kind of tenacity and creativity. And my character is a Titan so this doesn't benefit me in the slightest. But it's great to see people using their heads to work through a problem instead of giving up or getting bitter because they can't do it "the way you're supposed to".

Or you could be a very well coordinated team. Everyone on your team could also start learning how to master every role within Atheon too. I'm always the Relic Runner, but we just ran hard mode yesterday and finished it in under 40 minutes. As for the Atheon fight, no one spoke up about who does what, the second 3 got taken, someone grabbed the shield while stating their portal location while other 2 proceeded to kill minions and oracles. We killed Atheon in only 2 trips. In fact, the entire fight yesterday seemed to be too easy now, as we literally ran a flawless raid (aside the part where 1 player disconnected to we delayed till they returned so forced wipe).
-
That's actually... Quite clever.
-
Your post. I like that shit.
-
I don't understand how using the relic is hard
-
This isn't cheating or exploiting the fight in any way, in my opinion. It's clever usage of in-game mechanics.
-
Edited by Father Giliam: 10/29/2014 12:54:38 PMOr how about those that are getting teleported get a warning 3 seconds before the teleportation so they can quickly decide on who will take it before it happens.
-
Get 6 good players. Theres an easy way around the random teleportation. They've made the raid harder, like it should be and people complain?
-
This might work... Except for one thing. The Atheon fights is buggy as all hell. In our raids last night (our guild runs multiple raids to get all our guys through) there was multiple times that when we had one person dead before the teleport that he would only teleport 2. In one instance we had multiple people dead (we where screwing around) and he only teleported one person! I believe he picks at random and if you happen to be dead he does not replace you.
-
Aslong as 4/6 people know how to use the relic you will be fine.
-
I'm just gonna leave this here for you. Don't fear the Relic.
-
Thanks a lot for sharing our video here, seeing your post about the strategy made me smile. Cheers!
-
I personally like doing it the random way. But thanks I'll have another way of doing it in case my team complains.
-
I had heard (can't confirm) that the three random people teleported can include a "dead" teammate. Anyone confirm?
-
The real trick is to have 4 relic holders. Someone will go in the portal guaranteed. You can choose 2 people to not get relic.
-
Such a stupid tactic. The warlocks self Rez makes him a good shield holder, and just to stick it to bungee your depriving your team of that! ALSO! If a teammate is dead, sometimes only two get taken because it try's to take a dead guy, so this probably won't work anyway. Sorry ^^
-
What makes the random teleport so much harder I dont get it you kill the enemies shoot the oracles and cleanse it ain't -blam!-in hard.
-
Edited by al33m: 10/29/2014 10:33:16 AMWhy the -blam!- is this such a big deal. . always relic holder cause I'm best with relic. You know what this week I might finally get to not be the holder for a few rounds. Everyone (friends) votes me in cause I know what I'm doing. (Legit) And with randoms I push him off. Never been on the outside legit.
