Edit = Just read the patch notes... simply bullshit, Bungie.
Here's the patch notes.
With all of the screaming on the forums about the issues and game features that you break with each patch, we waited for two weeks and this is the best that your "world class developers" can do???
Bungie: "We want you to tell your Guardian's story. We want you to explore and discover the worlds of Destiny, we want you to figure out your own way to defeat our most difficult of challenges. But you must do it in exactly the way we say..."
Nothing about the weapons you keep making useless in the PvE side.
Nothing about the blatant vendor bias towards PvP.
This last weeks update from you guys was all about the PvP side, screw the PvE majority of players (apparently).
Nothing about improving the lolsocial interactions in your "shared world shooter".
Nothing about easing the manner of joining with friends to form a Fireteam.
Edit 2 = Not to mention that your two week labor to fix the connection issues has made them worse. Anyone need a monkey? My clanmates have plenty for everyone... Did you guys even test this patch?
But no. You don't really care about what the community wants. If you did, you'd realize that a majority of your players did not want you to do anything with Atheon. No, just further proof that we actually cannot play Destiny as we want. It's not our story to write, because as soon as we do something creative and new, you guys nerf the dog-shit out of it, or you patch it out of the game.
We waited two weeks for this!?
Do you guys even give half a shit beyond Activision's love of twitch-shooters? It doesn't appear that you do...

Agree. This getting kicked every 15 minutes or at the ass end of a strike is really pissing me off. I can't live on this game and grind 8 hrs a day for the chance to complete the strikes/bounties when it takes 3-4 damn near full runs of a strike to be kicked out at the end thanks to chicken/cow/eel/or lately weasel error. Sorry ass activision spend some of the millions of dollars you have milked from us over the years and buy some servers. Get rid of the kmart bargain bin shit you are using. Remember kids rush right and and buy the next shitty COD game, maybe the conspiracy is right about screwing things up right before their next big cash cow. Guess we will see right after it's released if things get sorted out.

Dude you took the words right out of my mouth.

What Bungie did with this patch is prove what I've been suspecting all along. They were not prepared for the amount of players that would be able to defeat Atheon easily even on normal. They assumed that a Fireteam would take weeks to clear through VoG, and the 14 hour first raid kinda helped with that attitude. Bungie watched as the first fireteam to enter the Vault was cut down for 14 hours, and happily congratulated them when they finally completed it, walking away with the idea that they created a pretty difficult raid that wasn't unbeatable, but was still very difficult. But then week two comes around, and even more fireteams complete it. Then week 3, even MORE are completing it. Suddenly any randomly made fireteam with a 2-3hour window could easily complete the raid. Bungie watched as their precious raid was -blam!-ed backwards and sideways by any fireteam that stepped in the Vault. The player base was happy with the raid, atleast from what i could see. The raid was fun, not to hard, still took a few hours to complete, and you felt accomplished when you dropped Atheon. Then there was hardmode to look forward to. Yes, there was some technical issues, but that was always expected, especially since this was the first raid. My issue with all this is that Bungie did not look at what was wrong with the raid because they were so shocked that their player base was beating it so easily. Something that drives me -blam!-ing crazy, and has tarnished my view of Bungie, was the Atheon change. Not so much with the baby bumpers (however i do think Bungie should of foreseen players pushing him off, it feels like they didnt even test their raid) because i DO think you should not be able to push Atheon off in hardmode(which directly resulted in their nerf to the vex, and i entirely blame the player base for this) but more the random teleport. This is because they watched the first raidteam do the 3 in back and 3 upfront to kill Atheon during the first raid. They watched them do this strat. That's what drives me insane. So when the vast majority of players started to kill Atheon with that strat, Bungie in a panic, said "No no that's just a bug it should never of been that way." WHAT? Bungie, you watched the first raidteam complete it like that, and now you are calling it a bug when everyone is doing it? Get the -blam!- over yourself Bungie. That's only one thing that Bungie is doing wrong, as i could go on and on about how they massively favor PvP, obviously cut content to sell on DLC(which i think is fine, but it shouldnt be THIS -blam!-ing obvious), and completely ignore player feedback even though Deej says they read all of it. I also have a serious problem with Deej. First few weeks he was great, responding with detailed posts about the game and providing a great bridge for the players and developers. But slowly, he started to fade, as more problems with the game arose. His posts became less detailed, and less informative. Then the whole 404architect (scandal?maybe) reddit post came about, and all we got from him was a "lolz u got trolled". Who -blam!-ing says that when something like that happens? I see long, very constructive posts, providing fantastic feedback and suggestions for the game that get no response from Deej, but the next day see him respond to a crybaby post with attitude and sarcasm. While i love the game, as i think it has alot of potential even with all the problems, what I see is Bungie killing their own product. I'm invested for the first 2 DLC's, so i will def still be providing feedback, but if Bungie doesn't get their shit together i fear the once great company that was responsible for Halo will go down in history as the biggest turnaround in the gaming industry.

Applause sir exactly. ...there mad because we figure out things to help us pass parts that make us feel defeated spend our just to not be able to get the final spoils smh we have been figuring things like this out since contra and mario know your history bungie that's what gamers do figure a way to beat a puzzle .....and like he said you nerf our guns patch aethon but still I get booted to orbit for no reason and it's hell trying to get my mic to work with your game sometimes ....Internet issue no I get 50megs down smh bungie great patch!!!!
-
i can say this im still getting disconnected from my fire teams now more than ever, to include once we are in a match some of my members get kicked that has happened since the game came out. the amount of disconnects are crazy, i opened ports, priotize packets so that the xbox one has priority over any device. still the game is broken to include the amazing storyline ( not ) i really hope they get it together because im sure my disability money could of went to better things...
-
It's not about cheating or doing it right in my opinion. I think the real problem here is that bungie made a game that was supposed to be our own destiny our own adventure and we were told we could figure out our own ways to beat it. And bungie didn't like how we decided to handle certain situations and decided to take that freedom away. And that pisses gamers off. That's what the issue is I think lol

This is to those who say people are butthurt. Prime example is Battlefield 4. Look at what not listening to your audience and putting out a sub par product does. That game not only flopped, but ruined the reputation and reliability of not only Dice but EA as well. This game is going to be forgotten about soon if the right changes aren't made. I have said this before to other people, "There are a lot of new games coming down the tunnel!" This being said, if you want to keep your audience/customer, you must keep them happy. I am finding more negative than positive more and more. Not just from the forums, but friends and players as well. I have had about 15 errors today. That is enough to make me not want to play it anymore. On top of that one of them was during the countdown after the daily. Because of this I received no reward for completing it. That is frustrating when I have to set time aside to enjoy my video games since I find myself busier these days (Mortgage, house, dogs, work). Ha ha ha! This is a great game. All some of us are asking is do not punish people for thinking outside of the box. If we figure out a way to do something that is different than the way you intended, does that make us wrong? Pushing Atheon off of the edge along with other things helped those like me that do not have several hours on end to play continuously to do the raid. This game is getting ridiculous.
-
Sounds like Activision bias towards PvP players as usual.
-
Like many others have said, I think they're just trying to slow down the number of people who are making it to 30 so that we don't -blam!-ing mow down the dlc when it comes out. "Just throw a little Monkey wrench in there, they'll never know...muahahaha!"
-
Bungie just doesnt listen and is afraid of players beating their game too early so they keep making it harder every patch.
Patch Notes 11/4/14 - We removed "Time's Vengeance" from the VoG because there was an issue were players could use their supers almost instantly - The developers worked hard to make your wishes come true so now you will be able to obtain one piece of raid gear every 4 weeks. - Ascendant Shards' and Energies' drop rate in the Vault was increased.
-
"Figure out our own way to defeat difficult challenges..." ARE THE -blam!-ING KIDDING! Pushing Atheon and Templar platform...
-
Game disc is now in 100 pieces. Would say goodbye but I'll leave you with a big FU

Destiny has gotten worse and worse with each update/hotfix. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if it was intentional, so the player base gets fed up and buys advanced warfare out of frustration (also published by activision).
-
Bungie had a vision, it didn't work out as planned the first go round. Biggie is doing what they can to fix issues with the game. BTW World Class Developers are not perfect and never will be. I stopped playing Bf4 because of server side issues, they did not fix it, they made chips and robbers game instead. It's always a gamble buying video games, if you are not happy, or not willing to wait for dlc (to see if it's worth buying) then quit playing. If you want to wait for it great quit complaining please! It's not like all you people out there are doing anything to fix the problems.
-
Not impressed with the patch at all, the team I play with is good enough that the random teleporting doesn't slow us down, but for most players it creates massive disarray, if bungie is attempting to make the raid harder for top teams they failed, all its done is make it harder for new teams/groups to get through. Honestly should have left vog alone.
-
Welcome to Bungie, where team work and strategy are just called mission bugs when doing the VoG.
-
I really hope other game developers will not follow this bullshit trend that seems to be coming quite regular lately, half assed games made up of DLC.
-
I fully agree. I love the idea of using the same equipment across all modes. But if they're gonna keep lowering the stats to appease the whiny ones in pvp, then i think weapons should have separate pvp and pve values. And aetheon...i get not being able to knock him off. That's acceptable. But screw you bungie for changing how he selects those to teleport. Thanks for constantly fixing this bug known as STRATEGY and replacing it with "luck". People should be able to come into a raid and play any role they want, whether that means being flexible or sticking to one role, it should be the players choice, not yours. I started off with big expectations for this game. I was a bit disappointed when it came out, but hopeful it would get better over time. That has not been the case. It's been quite opposite, as bungie seems to want to take every good thing about it (very few btw) and nerf them down to appease... who exactly? Who asked for it to be changed like this? All of your players? Or some bean counter at Activision?

Wish bungie would read this

Did you really hastag your psn name/gamertag? LOL!

Is everyone working on the content for the next dlc? Who needs 2 weeks for adding bumpers and changing the atheon picking algorhytmn? Seriously? By the way - Months of development for one Raid? I mean... ive played tera online... you need roughly 2 weeks off with much luck to gear for the hardest instance... and in the next patch all your gear is worthless tons of changes come, new areas are added but the technical platform was bs and in the end it wasnt enjoyable anymore...but in destiny they do even need 2 weeks for... nothing. What has been so hard? I guess they should focus in inventing powerful tools for fast content creation if they are serious to keep players entertained for 10 years. And being able to run the raid once every week? There are core gamers in here too, HELLO, we dont only want to play on tuesday.

Glad atheon got fixed. Dont like the change to mechanics though... a wow designer on reddit made a very good point about making a fight harder after release (from wows 10yr experience). Ironically, i dont think anyone would care about this if it was originally programmed this way. The attempt at halloween stuff is nice... but like so much in this game, is unexplained and leaves much to be desired. Dissappointed no balancing of exotics... namely mythoclast, bad juju, or thorn

we didn't even get as far as installing the update....tried about 10 times...unistalled the full game about 3 times, got Oyster, nightingale sooooo many times
