This is an raid idea Ive had for a couple of weeks now and Im gonna give it a shot right here where it counts with the players and devs. I know there is only one raid so far but its a very fun and giving game mode to build upon.
Anyway my idea is a raid that takes place in the Reef. Story wise its a working derelict ship that once belonged to Mankinds defence fleet during the great battle and The City Consensus wants it, so after a long and difficult bargain with the Queen they were allowed to extract the ship from Awoken space but they will not receive any help from the Queens fleet, they are on their own.
So the Consensus puts the task in the Guardians to recover this warship. *End story*
There is a whole BLAMton of ideas for this kind of raidmode, but mine goes like this. (NOTE, its up to Bungie to decide how to make the raid, I just give a rough picture of my idea) The ship is too big to transmat and being towed by six jumpships. So there can be no silly bubble burst of an easier way to get it back.
The ship is big enough to house different sections like a standard raid (using VoG as standard). There is the Hangar, Engine room, Cargo Hold, Security room and the Bridge. The first stages require the team to split up in two three man teams. One team must make their way to the Engine room where they must activate the power to the ship but gets locked out by security protocols.
Thus must the second team move to the security room where they through three different points unlock one door at the time for the second team to make their way to the Bridge so that the ship can start moving.
However the spike in energy was intercepted by a Fallen Ketch. Within moments the ship will be boarded by Fallen scavenge teams led by a ruthless Baron.
The Security Room get struck first and this is where the team there must open the few last doors for the second team to join the defense which will be brutal and require constant communication as there will spawn a certain type of Servitor that teleports in Fallen minions constantly leading to the teams being overrun if not dealt with quickly. This is where they will meet the Baron whom now takes it to himself to try and kill the raiders.
After killing the Baron you must make it to the Bridge where you will start the return home sequence and seal of all bulkheads making any boarding attempts fail. However the Kell on the Ketch is furious to lose such a prize that he sends out Skiffs to try and blast open weakspots in the ships hull and board through there. Now the Raiders must send four guardians to man the point defense guns and try to fend of the Skiffs. On both sides of the ship there are terminals that lets you steer the gun turrets and fire on the Skiffs. A danger still lurks within the shipp still. As Guardians are manning the turrets, Dreg assassins will try and kill the unaware Guardians. That is why two must watch each sides backs as the very weak but very deadly Dregs try to sabotage the defense.
Upon completing this Stage the ship is almost at the end of the sequence but the Kell has one more trick up his sleeve as he takes the last Skiff on his Ketch and rams into the Cargo Hold to which the Raiders must scramble and hold of the Kell and his last minions in an final epic battle.
Im sorry for such a massive post but I hope it atleast springs and inspiration in the mind of Luke Smith and the others working at Bungie.
