by Sage powers, I mean the ability to post in a thread without Bumping and giving a thread more attention than it deserves. Allowing more productive threads to float to the top. While the "X is OP pls Nerf" threads never see the light of day.
from 4chan's FAQs page
"What is "sage"?
Entering "sage" (by itself) into the [Options] field while replying will cause the thread not to bump to the top of the page. Contrary to popular belief, a sage is not a downvote, and should not be used as one. "sage-bombing" or announcing that you've saged a thread may result in a ban."
its a useful tool when a forum likes to turn itself into a cesspool.
Also could the Default Forum view be a combination of Popular topics and Latest. Like the first 4 would be the most popular Trending threads from the Trending Tab, then there would be a clear bump separating the top 4 from the most recent posts. Ive noticed lots of great threads never get seen because the Default view is "Trending" so it perpetuates pointless troll threads. Preventing some of the more recent productives threads from not getting traction.
Most of the time I dont make threads because I know they will just be ignored. I have to give them a Buzzfeed Troll title to get it going.
