Just ran the raid for the 4th time.
It was with a group who, apart from 3 of us, had never done it before.
A couple people weren't talking much, but they were all good at FPS games, stuck together and learned the mechanics really quickly...
We did it in like 45 minutes to an hour, no cheesing required.
The raid isn't actually that hard. At all.
I started it this morning with a bunch of randoms, and it took forever and half the people left by the Gatekeeper part. Nobody listened, nobody took the initiative for anything.... I tried explaining the maze about 100x but people still kept running around gliding and being seen.
Moral of the story:
Run the raid with good players who are willing to listen and it's a walk in the park.
Run it with a team of Rambos and it's really frustrating.

But Rambo never dies!
-
rambos get killed so often. there's always the dude who on the first conflux camps where the back left oracle spawns and dies for no reason then blames lag. always. every time.
-
Falls off the edge and he's afraid to admit it. 9/10 times guarantee.
-
or the guy who dies during the oracles and blames everyone else for not killing the hobgoblin that killed him. like bro u have a gun, and all you have to do to avoid hobgoblins is litterally left right left right
-
What about the guy that tries to glide over the Gorgons no matter how many times you tell him not to? haha

Had they seen any Youtube videos, or did they go in blind? Just curious. I haven't raided yet at all but have seen a couple of videos. Don't even know what the relic is, don't know how to cleanse, etc.

Edited by Adam: 10/27/2014 9:18:05 AMAnd d'ya remember the sword of Crota mission? Wielding the relic is a little like the sword except you have to 'cleanse' teammates by forming a bubble by holding L1 when your grenade slot charges. You'll see a prompt saying 'Marked For Negation' and you'll slowly go blind until you're cleansed. Other than that it's R2 does a shoulder bash Double jumping and R2 does a slam (best move) R1 does a quick attack and using your super with the shield fires a ball of light that takes the first boss' shields down and deals good damage to Atheon.

Edited by Adam: 10/27/2014 9:13:27 AM3 of us knew all the mechanics, so when we split into our 3 groups of 2 we each led our team and explained the mechanics to them as they went along. We only needed one cleanse at the Conflux/Oracle bit, and only two of us went into the Gatekeeper's portals to retrieve the relics. At the Templar I just said 'everyone on me' and we'd huddle for a cleanse. We only died once at the Maze as well. I was blown away by that. After getting the Gatekeeper checkpoint from the group of Rambos, I jumped in with just me and a friend to show him the relic.... It was his first ever time using it but by the end of the night he was confident enough to put himself forward for the job every time, and he ended up being the portal leader. If we hadn't have done that, only 2 of us would have known what we were doing Word of advice: Get to the Gatekeeper checkpoint, and rather than just blow through the whole thing, quit, load it up with 2 guys that don't know the relic and take them into the portal one by one and show them. They learn it up really quickly, and since you're just messing around, there's no pressure if they screw up. Great practice for the patch that's coming and for the 30-40 minutes you'll spend you'll save yourself 100s of deaths.

because of glitching a good majority of the gen pop doesn't know anything about the relic moveset, and probably hasn't even held it.

It pretty easy from the jump
