Yesterday I played through the Vault of Glass fully for the first time.
It was great to see the beautiful design of it, but the problem was the people I was with.
For starters, it was a bunch of younger dudes who have a mouth on them xD
This guy was so proud to tell us how his lvl 30 has done the raid 100 times and that his own vault is filled with Legendaries and Exotics.
At first I was impressed, but once we got to the Templar... everything changed.
This was no longer the raid I played the first time, and died multiple times trying to do it legit.
No.
Instead, we had this lvl 30 telling me that "Hunter's are useless in the VoG". To which I asked why (considering we had a lvl 29 Hunter with us and I myself play as a Hunter), and he merely responded because they are.
Now it was only when we got to the Templar that I realised why I wasn't enjoying this.
The players were more concerned with glitching the Templar and Atheon, pushing them off the edge with their EPIC WARLOCK GRENADES, while me and another player sat in a corner, feeling goddamn useless. It sucked.
The whole point of a raid is to come together as a team and devise strategies to defeat the obstacles in front of you. I hardly felt like I even did anything in the raid, as these guys carried on talking about their "Amazing skills at pushing Atheon".
So, I sat in Atheons lair, literally hiding behind a -blam!-ing pillar while this dude compalined that Atheon was not going in the right spot.
I hadn't even shot a single shot at him, I hardly even knew what I was doing because this group were so focused on glitching him out.
I'm now on the Hard mode of the raid, but I don't dare go for it with another bunch of randoms for fear of sitting in a corner once more, listening to try hards as they talk about their 1000000 Exotics and Legendaries.
In conclusion, people are more concerned with glitching a raid and gaining loot, than actually finishing it legit.
What is the point of glitching to get gear, when the gear is used for the Raid anyway? If you want play a dress up sim, go ahead and google a shitty flash game.
For this asking I'm on xbone

Hunters are very strong. We can almost solo a Praetorian with our gunslinger super. If I had the 4th shot helm I know I could for sure. Having a void damage weapon like the Epilogue, I just shoot down his shield and pop my super and it's almost dead on Hardmode. Don't worry, everything will change once they implement the baby bumpers for the bosses. Warlocks will be the useless class then :P

-
Me too. Tried it a few times but can't seem to find decent people to play with. I got called out because I never did vog before so it was all my fault that some people died.
-
I agree. I tried to recruit a few guys from the LFG website, and once they found out that I wasn't down for the Atheon cheese, the bailed. I was like, "Wtf are you nerds going to do after the buffers are in place?" It was terrible. It may be a generational thing with me, but I just can't stand to hear a lot of younger guys with their constant bragging or desire to do everything the "easy" way. It's quite annoying.

GT: DeadRage1 on xbone level 28 hunter add me for raid
-
Its partly reasons like this why i havnt done the raid yet (newborn child restricting available time is the other) id rather not do it all, than do it with a self ritious little prick who wants to cheat his way to victory. Raid gear is some of the only gear you can truley earn (to a degree). Id rather wait and earn it legit with 5 friends than glitch it and cheapen the whole affair.

We had a guy join our group slamming hunters for having no utility in the raid and being useless. He proceeded to be the reason we kept having to wipe on hard mode while our two hunters carried his heavy stupid body. It doesn't matter what class you are, only if you are good or bad.
-
Congrats... thats what a welfare loot system brings... and guess what? The casuals did it...and most of them are younger gamers...
-
Dude I know, I get so tired of people just wanting to glitch him off. My team was running through with a couple of noobs and we got wiped a few times, no big deal, but then one of our guys was like ok Titans use pulse grenades and warlocks use solar grenades lets just push him off. It's -blam!-ing ridiculous, idc if you want to do the glitch every once in a while, I've done it, but it's to the point where I can't get team together without at least two people who just want to cheese the -blam!-in thing. That's no fun. IMO.
-
Tell him to step into the Crucible and see how useless hunters are, I bet he will be crying for nerfs in a matter of minutes. Every class is viable and takes time to master, just because push grenades can glitch boss fights doesn't make them the master class, and that is changing.
-
You should have had the little punk watch this video. These two guys did the VoG on HARD and one was a HUNTER! Screw that little shit thinking he was a badass. All 3 classes are important.
-
I had somebody go the extra step and say hunters are useless in PvE and are only good for PvP. In the raid specifically their golden gun can be useful in a pinch to take out oracles. I'm sure the blade dancer can be useful when defending the confluxes. I don't play as a hunter, but I know a few people that do and they are great. I guess that the guys with you are right, when it comes to pushing Atheon off they are useless, but that doesn't encompass the entire raid now does it?
-
Never glitched and never will glitch... game is to easy as it is now. I've only done it on hard last week and I had a blast. Luck has it I am in a group with mature guys who don't wanna glitch... we play for fun, loot is only a cherry on top.

I've moved around from country to country, experienced quite a few cultures, and there's one constant when it comes to humanity. There's assholes everywhere. Get used to it. It's kinda up to you to be the better person.
-
8hrs in the raid on one single run have yet to finish the a the on part can 5 experienced players help me do it the legit way I only have till tmrw to do it before reset. I'm at the a the on checkpoint. Any kind of help will be awesome. Gamer tag is MyLoveMystery ps4

Hunters are awesome in raid, they're really good at taking out adds in portals and taking down oracles:D Be proud of your hunter. Those who go through the raid light with hunters are the real pro. Keep it up man!
-
I mean if you want to play the Raid 5+ times a week and you want to spend all that time doing it "legit" then more power to yah but some of us don't have your time.
-
Hit me up if your on 360. Level 29 Titan with no class bigotry (filthy book worm of a scholar) involved in raid methods.
-
Sounds like you where unlucky in who you went in with for your first time. To which I can only apologise for. Hunters aren't unless in fact we have one in our raid group. And this isn't a "we got one so we can say we have one" type of thing. It just happened that we All randomly grouped for the raid and by the end became friends and now raid together weekly! Anyway! Just make note and don't raid with him again, don't let him damper your fun. Put it down as bad experience forget about him and look forward to next time :)
-
You should have been killing Harpies...
-
I always laugh at people who call hunters worthless. Anytime people say that I check my own stats and I usually have done the work of 2 guardians if their scores are to be considered accurate reflections of what master race titans and warlocks should be getting.
-
Beating the raid on hard legit feels so good. Much Accomplished.
-
Indeed. I totally agree with you.
-
Well said brother.
-
I agree. I want to beat the vault the legit way. I need to find a team that wants to do it. Unfortunately I'm on ps3. Otherwise I'd add you and say we try it together.
-
I completely agree with you dude. Thats why i joined a clan so i dont have to deal with the idiots. But on the other hand its going to be funny to watch them fail miserably in the raid after the patch.
