Destiny came and all of a sudden everyones "Pro". (A note on playerbase and the VoG)
Yesterday I played through the Vault of Glass fully for the first time.
It was great to see the beautiful design of it, but the problem was the people I was with.
For starters, it was a bunch of younger dudes who have a mouth on them xD
This guy was so proud to tell us how his lvl 30 has done the raid 100 times and that his own vault is filled with Legendaries and Exotics.
At first I was impressed, but once we got to the Templar... everything changed.
This was no longer the raid I played the first time, and died multiple times trying to do it legit.
No.
Instead, we had this lvl 30 telling me that "Hunter's are useless in the VoG". To which I asked why (considering we had a lvl 29 Hunter with us and I myself play as a Hunter), and he merely responded because they are.
Now it was only when we got to the Templar that I realised why I wasn't enjoying this.
The players were more concerned with glitching the Templar and Atheon, pushing them off the edge with their EPIC WARLOCK GRENADES, while me and another player sat in a corner, feeling goddamn useless. It sucked.
The whole point of a raid is to come together as a team and devise strategies to defeat the obstacles in front of you. I hardly felt like I even did anything in the raid, as these guys carried on talking about their "Amazing skills at pushing Atheon".
So, I sat in Atheons lair, literally hiding behind a -blam!-ing pillar while this dude compalined that Atheon was not going in the right spot.
I hadn't even shot a single shot at him, I hardly even knew what I was doing because this group were so focused on glitching him out.
I'm now on the Hard mode of the raid, but I don't dare go for it with another bunch of randoms for fear of sitting in a corner once more, listening to try hards as they talk about their 1000000 Exotics and Legendaries.
In conclusion, people are more concerned with glitching a raid and gaining loot, than actually finishing it legit.
[b]What is the point of glitching to get gear, when the gear is used for the Raid anyway? If you want play a dress up sim, go ahead and google a shitty flash game.[/b]

I been complaining about this too. These guys going aroind like their pros, all they can do is glitch shit. They cant work a decent strat in their life and when you do try legit. They are usually first ones to die and dont taje critism well because they thinkbthey are good. Makes it really tough for clans.

I've beaten Atheon twice but only ran through it from beginning to end once. Ran it my first time last week with a group. This week they ran it to atheon and needed help so they in invited me at the end. Both beat legit. Its extremely fun running it with a good group. Probably the most fun I had in this game was my first full raid

2 Repliesi love this :] i try to pull new raiders through the vault with me whenever i can, and now I'm seeing a trend of kids who NEVER have raided before, already knowing all of the exploits and assuming that's what we're doing... i've seen more level 30's who can't hang, then level 26's :/ ive had kids 3 levels lower than our "legends" who were pulling all of the slack with me. not the best player, but i play honestly. OP feel free to add me if you're on xboxone, id love to get a real raid goin with ya ^.^

If a level 30 can't beat the Templar legit on normal he should really consider trading in the game.

My first attempt was with a group of randoms, but 5 of us had never played, and one had. The one who had was helping his friend out, and I was one of the 4 extras invited along. We beat it legitimately, and it was fun as hell, and only took a couple hours with a few deaths here and there. Then I've ended up joining groups who had the warlocks go off to cheese Atheon while I held the shield, because as a Hunter, I had nothing I should be doing because I was otherwise worthless. Now, at the time, yeah, I was all for it, because I had already beaten the raid on normal and hard with pretty much no reward for it (except for my recent normal run which finally gave me a piece of raid gear and the exotic I wanted). All the times I've been in a group to push him off, it was on hard runs. I've gotten nothing but ships and shards from hard runs, regardless of whether we pushed him off or not. I'd rather know I'm getting shit on by the game now instead of possibly grueling through an hour of frustration to then have that added on top. Now, I welcome the change coming up. Well, the baby bumpers. I'm still unsure about the three random people being teleported instead of the back three.

I say hunters have their uses in the raid, even while pushing off bosses playing all 3 classes, hunters have their uses in the raid, and also disadvantages so dont worry, baby bumpers are coming soon.

But as time went on, my raid group was looking for faster ways to complete the raid. That's how we learned about cheesing Atheon and the Templar. We do it because it saves us time. Most members of my group have jobs and kids to take care of. We also run more that six members through the raid. We help out others even though we've done the raid ourselves and get no rewards for it. I'm sure this isn't the way Bungie expected things to be. The fact that they're going to patch it is proof of that. And Ill glady honor their decision once the patch hits. Until then we'll cheese the hell out of Atheon and the temp . EDIT: Even though I'll honor their decision to patch cheesing Atheon, I wont honor their decision to allow Atheon to teleport 3 random people.

My first 20 times through the vault was legit (its pretty -blam!-ing easy) but after all that time and effort getting nothing but atheons epilogue repeatedly and only chest armour and gauntlets we now cheese it, mostly because the raid group I have had since the beginning already has everything from the vault andwould rather do the weeklies on the refresh.

So because you felt left out (boohoo) despite some possible amazing loot rewards you feel you need to trash all Americans. Across the board, no common sense needed, IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE PRESENT COMPANY YOU'RE AROUND, YOU SHOULD PROBABLY LEAVE. I would have. Otherwise I would have been miserable and made a similar post of wahh wahh combined with hating on the greatest nation on the planet.

6 RepliesStep 1: Quit complaining while sitting in a corner with your thumb up your ass. Step 2: Stop being a follower. Step up and be a leader form your own raid team and do it legit. If you can't handle steps 1 and 2 shut up and let the Americans backpack your useless ass through the raid. It's ok we're use to carrying the rest of the world on our shoulders.

3 RepliesFirst couple times through the Raid we cheesed it until we finally grew some balls and decided to start shooting up close. I can say it takes just as long to honestly kill the Templar as it takes to push him off and it is for the most part more fun.

3 RepliesI do raids legit all the time. The hard fix that's coming is going to seperate the players that can only glitch their way through the raid from the ones that actually know how to strategize. I've seen level 30's that only know how to beat the vault by cheating it. Which is sad because it's really not all that bad if you have a group of competent individuals.

Considering that Bungie has said that knocking the bosses off the edges of the area is an expliot and will be fixed, eventually teams that only glitch bosses and don't know how to properly deal with them won't be able to clear. If it was up to me it would be a simple fix, if he left the platform insta-raid wipe. Soon fix the glitching issue. The terms and conditions are quite clear and you should report all the members that you went raiding with.

Get a different team? Not every American glitches and says classes suck. Maybe if you realized like I did winning that way is no way to beat it, even more so on your first try, you would have quit and not had this issue. Wasn't your choice to play with some losers. But you did anyway.

3 RepliesI feel you on this. People are so concerned with knocking the bosses off the edge. It's why I'm putting off raiding until I can get a One and raid with my friends. Doing the fight legit is a lot more fun than pushing Atheon and the Templar. The people that are adamant about doing it and start applying a eugenics-esque philosophy to VoG runs are the same kids who complain about Xur and how they "earned" their exotics
