Destiny came and all of a sudden everyones "Pro". (A note on playerbase and the VoG)
Yesterday I played through the Vault of Glass fully for the first time.
It was great to see the beautiful design of it, but the problem was the people I was with.
For starters, it was a bunch of younger dudes who have a mouth on them xD
This guy was so proud to tell us how his lvl 30 has done the raid 100 times and that his own vault is filled with Legendaries and Exotics.
At first I was impressed, but once we got to the Templar... everything changed.
This was no longer the raid I played the first time, and died multiple times trying to do it legit.
No.
Instead, we had this lvl 30 telling me that "Hunter's are useless in the VoG". To which I asked why (considering we had a lvl 29 Hunter with us and I myself play as a Hunter), and he merely responded because they are.
Now it was only when we got to the Templar that I realised why I wasn't enjoying this.
The players were more concerned with glitching the Templar and Atheon, pushing them off the edge with their EPIC WARLOCK GRENADES, while me and another player sat in a corner, feeling goddamn useless. It sucked.
The whole point of a raid is to come together as a team and devise strategies to defeat the obstacles in front of you. I hardly felt like I even did anything in the raid, as these guys carried on talking about their "Amazing skills at pushing Atheon".
So, I sat in Atheons lair, literally hiding behind a -blam!-ing pillar while this dude compalined that Atheon was not going in the right spot.
I hadn't even shot a single shot at him, I hardly even knew what I was doing because this group were so focused on glitching him out.
I'm now on the Hard mode of the raid, but I don't dare go for it with another bunch of randoms for fear of sitting in a corner once more, listening to try hards as they talk about their 1000000 Exotics and Legendaries.
In conclusion, people are more concerned with glitching a raid and gaining loot, than actually finishing it legit.
[b]What is the point of glitching to get gear, when the gear is used for the Raid anyway? If you want play a dress up sim, go ahead and google a shitty flash game.[/b]

5 RepliesI think around 3 supers are a no no in the vault of Glass. Those being Bladedancer, Striker and Voidwalker. Golden gun is really useful for VoG during the oracle parts and Ward Of Dawn is incredibly useful during the the templar fight. My sunbros and I aren't that useful during the fights but my clan runs with four SSers and it is REALLY helpful with 4 backup save at the ready

Warlocks have sunsinger. Titans have defender. Hunters... Nada, nothing, zero. It hurts badly cus I chose to level my Hunter before Warlock. Hunters are skimpy too. They die too easy. Golden gun is garbage in pve (it doesn't do more damage than Ice Breaker or Patience and Time). Blade dancer in VoG is just no-no.

2 RepliesYou certainly deserve a decent team, and there are many out there. But glitchers deserve a similar team as well. I mean, lets be honest here. Orbit is just two buttons and 5 seconds away. But you stayed, collecting that loot you were complaining about. I'm sorry your first experience was ruined, but now you know I guess. P.S- Yea, I glitch out Atheon. My team has fought Atheon TONS of times on hard. We can always get him down to a sliver of health, but then the game glitches out. The portal only sends two people, the relic shield stops working, etc. So, the only way to actually win, for now, is to knock this bunny-eared bitch off the map.

I was playing the other day with some kids and I knew there was no hope when I heard one them say we need more warlocks and the whole group agreed I was picking up the relic . Smashing two of the oracle Mars and Venus . And cleansing over 3 time should never have to cleanse more then twice and we were still sucumbing to oracles others couldent even make it out there suppression field . It was horrible . If you bitch about dying and your resseructing left and right . Then your garbage real warlocks never use there reserection or only use it to clutch the team . Never because they can't handle there selfs

I know this post is old, but I just wanted to update on my experiences so far with my Hunter. Maybe I just got lucky and I play with really good people, but nobody has ever told me in-game that Hunters are worthless in VoG. This also might be because all of a sudden I'm the most experienced raider in my group of friends, so I have an understanding of every job. I definitely can't kill the supplicants with the same beauty as a Sunbro, but I feel like I hold my own and have proven that skill matters more than class. Don't give up on the randoms, man. There are good people out there. Have faith!

3 RepliesI'm a hunter on PS4 I've don't the raid multiple times and most the time I've seen Warlocks and Titans only be there for reviving and holding the relics. I've always found myself dealing a shit ton of the damage and only once I was in a raid that the person was glitching the Templar and Atheon. Plus people say that gunslinger was a piece of shit, I disagree. Golden gun is useless if you have a decent legendary or exotic sniper, that much is true. But 2 flaming throwing knives and an incendiary grenade are very useful. Plus I only just entered my teen years, some of us know our shit. I'm the youngest person in the group of people I play with. But the only one who knew were 6/7 chests were. Seriously these nubs need to do their god damn research. I spent 2 days before I did VoG my first time just researching. I went in there and knew more than the person leading the group knew. He was Warlock knew nothing and was only good for holding the relic. Titans are good for Atheon and Warlocks good for reviving. Hunters though if you max armor on gunslinger, your definatatly equal possibly even better than either of them.

Blade dancer goes invis and runs through Gorgons. Everyone quits and rejoins. Hunter is not useless if you play with people who get seen every f'cking time

-gunslingers are good for oracle and (limited) praetorian killing. -warlocks have the self-revive, which is priceless in a no team revive environment. -titan ward of dawn can be useful for protecting and weapons of light. Each have their part, however, I will say that a team of 4+ hunters is not ideal at all.

They should have patched the Atheon on first week the glitch was on internet, disable all loot people got from Raid and guarantee the loot back after finishing Raid after patch. But no. For me the Raid was something I haven't experienced in console gaming ever. Just amazing experience. Now, just make be sad to read forums where its all about "anyone having check point at atheon" or "anyone want to cheese" or what ever. This exploitation just took the "feeling" away from the achievement and knowing human nature, it's Bungie to blame not the players .

I have no problem with glitching. But you guys should have worked that out at the beginning. Post on reddit and you will get mature players if you ask in your description. That's how we put our raiding party together. Can't complain at all.

Or people glitch the Templar because A) it's the only way to spawn the 5th chest; or B) they've done the raid so many times it's boring to actually do it legit.

My dedicated raid team consists of 3 Hunters 2 Warlocks and a Titan(me) Don't ever let someone tell you a hunter is useless. We can crush the raid in just under 40 minutes when we do a run. Guess who is always leading the pack with kills? One of the hunters with me being a close second on my titan.

To many ppl glitching.... I've played with ppl that beat atheon but when I asked them what over parts of the raid they liked or found difficult, they had no idea. They simply got the atheon checkpoint and..... Pushed!! And for hunters... Best class for vog... Golden gun is a must for the portals.

In my opinion, each class has at least one strength and weakness. The Hunter undoubtly is the best for Crucible, however the majority of its abilities is mostly offense and hardly any type of supportive or defensive attribute. but its just my opinion.

4 RepliesHunters are amazing for killing both the templar and atheon legit. They are also adept at finding their way throught he labyrinth without detection. So they are helpful basically 95% of the raid at full throttle. Now defending confluxes and sync plates are questionable mainly because your skill level as a hunter takes a role in your lightweight stature. But destroying oracles in the vault and in the Templars cave are quite easy for hunters and make them very useful.
