it would be how it currently is with the different game modes - clash, control, combined arms, skirmish, salvage and rumble.. just play the like normal. but all the team members would be aligned with the same faction.
the only mode that might not work is rumble. but bungie could make it where 2 people from each faction matchmake for a total of 6...

Oh. Personally i would love to see all 3 factions in one battle. Every win counts and after a week or month the winning faction gets a bonus reward or something.

you could split it up 4 v 4 v 4... the biggest crucible modes can only hand a total of 12 people.

Only 12 people? But 4vs4vs4 sounds good too. Hope this faction war playlist makes it in the game^^

yeah haven't you played?? it's either 6 on 6 or 3 on 3... those are the only types available clash, control and combined arms - 6 v 6 skirmish, salvage - 3 v 3 rumble - 6 people (free for all)

I know that those are only avaiable, but while we are at it we could still raise the limit in your special gamemode. I hope a big team slayer (8vs8) makes it too.
