Dear Bungie, I thank you for creating a game that's fun in many ways but also pisses me off in many others. The main reason I get pissed off is because of reward drops for missions such as the Weekly Nightfall Strike and the Vault of Glass have been things that make my character look "pretty". I don't need 2 Legendary Ships. I don't need 2 Armor Shadders. If the missions are supposed to be the hardest challenges we'll ever face in the game, then how come we're getting rewards that are NOT worth the time and effort put into them? But not only just the aesthetics, it's the same when you get a weapon or armor that you already have.
Make a filter. My idea is that the filter will just make it so that once you receive a reward your chances of receiving that item are less for a second time; for it to have a lower drop rate. That way we can expect rewards that are worthwhile but still have the chance of getting something that might not be as satisfying. Also, to make your lives easier, just make it so that the drop rate will be less for items received after you implement a patch and/or update for the filter. That way you won't need to go around looking at every single player's inventory in order to see what they already have.
I personally have received nothing that would help my character progress in any way for three straight weeks. Aside from looking "pretty" to everyone I walk by. If anything, Xur, Agent of the Nine is a much better source of worthwhile items than the Raid or Nightfall missions. And all I have to do is play it cool, maybe do some bounties during the week and Blam!, I've got much better items for a fraction of the effort.
