This is a serious matter, The idea of changing the fight of Atheon to select 3 random players, instead of the 3 furthest players to send through the timegate.
There is a constant idea that Bungie believes their game should be played like an MMO. They've managed to remove Farming areas for engrams, with a good fix that engrams now give what they're supposed to, and providing engrams as rewards. They believe their end game shouldn't be everyone standing in front of a Cave to get drops. They want people to play the game and this is very understandable.
Currently, the Level 30 Raid is quite the "Challenge" on players. What's happening is most players are in fact cheesing most of the fights. Including Atheon, by apparently knocking him of the ledge. What's even worse, on not just Hard Mode Raiders, is that with the next patch, the player selection for Atheon's Portal phase will become random. My belief is this will only ruin the Raid Experience for many people.
The Raid requires Teamwork and coordination at every level, a group of players are supposed to be able to knit themselves tightly to accommodate specific roles for their class or whatever the group may need. Such as a Titan to prevent the Templar from Teleporting, a player with Keeper of the pack for quick revives, whatever. Everyone knows their role from the beginning of the entire Raid even.
Changing this Timestream effect, players will find themselves confused. Immediately struggling to determine, who will fire upon the oracles, and who will defeat the enemies at the bottom. Who grabs the Relic? This changes everything, from becoming a part of the game requiring finesse and good communication. Hunters are typically favored to venture through the Timestream to use their Golden Gun to dispatch Oracles quickly. This also affects new players, as those without experience will have no idea what their role is. Warlocks without Oracle Disruptor Weapon upgrades will find themselves struggling to take down Oracles in time, while those with the Relic may not realize their teammates require a cleanse, in order to see the oracles before the team succumbs to them.
I'm opening a poll, to show that I am not the only one against this change.
The Raid should be left as a Raid, requiring specific work of Roles with the players. Not a test of the player's reaction time and adaptability.

i agree :) in every raid in games that inc raiding its a constant strategy ie you do it that way all the time, this crap about random porting is bullshit you may aswell just change the name from raid to lvl 26 or 30 strike. you dont see massive sucessful companies like Blizzard changing what happens in a raid ever they are designed to be done 1 way and 1 way only
