I don't think the new mail indicator works properly: Part of the problem could be that can see my messages before I click on them, so I may not have clicked on every single message I have read, and I have read them all. So now I have to look at this number indicator saying I have x number of new messages when in reality I don't. If I could mark messages as read this would help.
