Seriously, this is getting out of hand. It ruined the Iron Banner, and now it continues to stink up the Crucible. Salvage and Skirmish are especially suffering; losing a single man is a drastic disadvantage. Getting thrown into the empty slot of a rage-quitter is no less annoying; Destiny's lackadaisical matchmaking generally waits till the odds of winning are nigh to finally throw some poor soul onto the losing team, all the while that spineless prick of a rage-quitter is allowed to roam free. The Crucible's penurious loot drops obviously are not enough to keep people from leaving early, so'd it'd be real nice if their were some sort of incentive to keep kids in the game.
You know, like that bag of doorknobs Cayde-6 keeps around for Rahool.
I'm sure those dishonorable guardians just need a little "persuasion" to keep 'em on the right track.

Pvp is a really small portion of the game if you think about it. Only reason its there is to give you something to do after everything
-
Because Exotic Weapon Bounties are bullshit and require PvP.
-
That's PVP for you It's like mcdonalds instant but unhealthy and unsatisfying

They are probably being kicked into orbit by the servers. I can't stay connected for more than 10 minutes at the moment. Givin up...
-
As botched as the servers are theres a very good chance for every rage quitter there is one person kicked cuase if the crappy servers. Cant tell you how many times I've been kicked from a match. One other issue which is a driving factor here is we have to groups of gamers the instant gratification (cod etc) and the people who play mmos on computers who knows repetition is the way to get better gear and lvl up and stuff. Ive played mmos online and ive played games like battlefield so im not as bothered by repetition and I think thats what the issue is a bunch of people expecting instant gratification and get mad when it dont happen and mmo players play for quests raids etc more time doing that than pvp stuff two different groups of people and they did advertise this as a mmo not another cod. So ths mmo aspect should take presidence over the pvp side in my opinion. I enjoy both myself one biggest issue for me is the sparatic no logic loot system there's no incentive to do good you could put a rubber band around the controller and sit there get 0 and 20 and have the same chance at all the loot as someone who gets 20 and 0. Im sure thats something both communitys can agree on. As for leaving games early they payed 60$ and are entitiled not to be told what to do with the game they invested there money into and instead of making a penalty how about make a incentive to stay which would make people want to play there game more but just look at iron banner they -blam!-ed that event maaajorly what do you expect when only the winners get rep for the event thats just plain stupid planning on thier part instead it should of been 25 a win 10 a lose this is where the instant gratification comes into play no reward and god forbid the slot machine reward system gave you something there is ZERO incentive to stay. One last point to make and I know for a fact im right that they have (developers) have catered to the pvp community a million times over the pve community and thats just a fact. The games mmo first than pvp if the whole games supposed to be centered around pvp than I might as well call it call of duty destiny warfare.

I agree, I'm also sick of scrubs... Like I'm sure there is some sort of hidden match making rating as I seem to get mvp most games for no reward, pvp needs some sort of incentive as it's fun as fuk but I feel I'm wasting my time doing it for next to no loot and no rankings

I guess u dont relize a good majority are kicked out for error codes? I know when my friends played in the leave alot cause of this constant error code zebra half the time they dont leave now dont get me wrong there are people who leave but there are also people who get booted from the server. Im not a pvper but i can see the people who are getting mad cause they got punished for the shotty servers

Punishing players would only diminish the player base at a high rate. Terrible idea.

I agree 100%. Ban them temporarily from crucible. Quitters have no place there.
-
2 quit matches in 1 hour should equal a 15 minute ban. quit another match within 1 hour of a 15 min ban, get a 1 hour ban. quit within 1 hour of a 1 hour ban, get a 2 hour ban

To point, a lot of us don't want anything to do with pvp in the first place. Yet, we're forced into it. You want people to stop bailing out of pvp matches? How about they fix the forced pvp in the first place. Note that all exotic bounties force players into pvp. Their is literally nothing to keep the player in the match once they've finished out their objective on it and the proper fix is not to give credit for it in the first place at the end of the match. If people don't want to be there, then don't make them.

Edited by hagintora: 10/23/2014 6:48:35 AMIron Banner wasn't ruined by the players, but by the system. The way the Bounties were set up all but guaranteed that players would be quitting mid-match. Most of what is wrong with this game has to do with how it is set up. Change the set up and you change the gameplay. The supposed Trials of Osiris event that rumor says is coming is another example of a potentially game ruining event. As the rules state that if you lose 3 times, you are kicked out and must earn your way back in. If it works the same way that Iron Banner did, there will be a sharp increase of players quitting mid-match, just as there was with Iron Banner. Now I'll admit that I don't play PVP all that often, I'm not good at it and I don't really enjoy it, so it's difficult for me to comment directly on that side of the game. So I'll have to ask the players that do this question: Why is it profitable to quit mid-match? Besides the Rage Quit, is there something that players are trying to achieve? The Rage Quitters you can't really do anything about, because how can the system tell the difference between them, and players who have to leave due to real life "out-of-game" reasons? The others, however, can easily be dealt with by changing the parameters of whatever goals they are trying to reach. If you make it more profitable to complete a match, or, more drastic yet, you make it so the only way to profit is by completing a match, then both the incentive to keep playing and the punishment for quitting are essentially one and the same. As I said, change the set up, and you change the game.

They need to get rewards instead for even showing up.
