Why would anyone care about someone playing a different gender than their own(let's not even broach the subject that not everyone is cis)?
The only way I could see this being an issue is if you are messaging these female toons in hope that they are female.
Are you? Are you messaging female toons in hopes they are females?
Edit: not direct to the OP. You, as in, the complainer.

What is cis?
-
A cis person is the opposite of trans*, that is, a person born in a body that matches their gender identity. Quick version: Not trans.

Edited by Hektik: 10/22/2014 9:29:33 PMA person who is cis identifies as the gender they were born into. A person who is not cis does not identify with the gender they were born into. Edit: this is my understanding, I could be wrong in some form or another.

Ah ok thanks for explaining. Just for curiosity sake and to see how far behind I am when did all this calling people cis started?
-
Now that I am not sure of. I only recently found out about the term.
-
Not really long ago, at least that I know. Declaring one-self as cis is just a way of stating "Yo, I know about the stuff. I know about trans* issues. I'm an ally". It also helps to de-normalize cis, thus normalizing trans- In general, it's just a way of saying that you are an ally.

Ah ok thanks for explaining, and who says forums aren't educational! :)
-
Nope, you are totally fine. More accurate than my explanation in fact.

Thank you
-
Oh ooops.

I didn't even want to get started in the not-cis topic cause, you know... Half of the forum wouldn't know what cis means. And obviously I'm not. I'm actually asking why people care so much so ??
-
I edited to reflect I wasn't targeting you. Sorry
-
Yeah, I noticed, but late, that's the reason for the "Oh oops".
