Hey Everyone (Especially Bungie)
I was thinking and came up with what I thought is an incredible idea.
I suggest that for a special event on a weekend or something, you orchestrate a crucible battle between the different factions represented by the vendors in the Tower.
Imagine players align to one specific vendor; Future War Cult, Dead Orbit and New Monarchy. And you set it so the factions battle each other in the various crucible modes available. For example, all the people that choose Dead Orbit will always be on a team with other people that aligned with Dead Orbit and the other team would always be one of the other 2 factions.
I think this would add more meaning to the factions overall and I would love to represent one of them in battle other than simply using their Class Armor or Gear.
Thanks. Let me know what you think. I really hope someone important reads this.

Great idea. I'm sure Bungie was planning on putting this in but decided not to because the could just charge for it down the road.

Tower decorated in the colors of the faction with highest win percentage for the whole of the event.

Edited by SOL Sirloin: 2/13/2015 4:48:03 AMHow I would do it: A player would choose a faction to represent (DO,NM,FW) by going to the faction handler and buying a faction pass for 1000 glimmer (it would apply to each character). Each day the crucible game type would change (Ex: Tuesday -Control, Wednesday-salvage, Thursday-clash) and each time a faction team wins it adds a point to that faction and at the end of the week which ever team with the most points wins. Why would people do this you ask? At the end of the week a player gets a package based on how many points they put in if their team won. (Subject to change) 10-Bad package (energy or shards) 25-Ok package (Emblem or a engram) 50-Regular faction package (Weapon or armor) 75-Double drop faction package (Weapon or Shader) (The drops would be faction specific) This activity would increase play time and draw PvE players to PvP.

I think it could be a good idea but only if all participants would be forced to stay in their chosen faction when the event begins. If players could switch to a different faction whenever they wanted then there wouldn't be much difference than how faction rep is currently earned. There would also be disputes as to which faction wins if all players represented all factions, which would defeat the whole point of having the event. (I'm kind of drunk at the moment but did that make sense to anybody?)

Extend this further and when you do stuff for your faction and gain xp with them, as a faction you gain bonuses such as higher loot drop chance for an hour each week or higher glimmer collection or faster reputation rank ups

Faction wars would be glorious. The fist of Dead Orbit shall crush the opposition. I'm afraid there would be a large gap though for FWC as not many people ally with them.

Dead Orbit, because Sweden!
-
Omg awesome like the faction wars

-
Hell yeah!
-
I like the idea.
-
I would like them to fix crucible first
-
This would be supper fun, but let's be honest it would basically be dead orbit vs. New Monarchy. :/

You need to go work for bungie they need fresh minds like this

To be able to participate in crucible matches you have to be able to have a class item from your favorite faction
-
Great idea dude
-
You could also transpose that to pve. Where you score point for your faction kind of like harry potter houses

Sounds interesting!

Love the idea
