Sorry Bungie, as much as you say you love your fans, and as much as I would like to think that you guys'll get it right quick... you guys are seriously disappointing your biggest fans, myself included.
I too am one of the 'minority' (sarcasm) that gets hit with marionberry and beaver errors. And I think I know what the problem is...
CMIIW, you guys (Bungie) tout using cutting edge tech, when actually looking at it feature wise, it's not really cutting edge at all. I mean, you are not putting in hundreds of players on a single area, you are limiting to 16, which is actually a NORM since Halo 2! (Even Halo managed 32 players). It looks to me that this is a result of Bungie tryting to say -BLAM YOU- for people having mediocre connections (ie. high pings etc.). Instead of optimizing netcode and allowing some sort of minor 'jitter' to be fixed, you straight out kick other people out of a game for to avoid ANY kind of lag and bad reviews (that time has passed guys...), hence the bevy of error codes, when ALL other online games works fine.
Currently, I am paying a lot of money for 16 Mbps connection to play games like Destiny, when my earlier 3-5 Mbps connection worked fine for Halo (albeit with some minor lag), and never kicked me out of games, even for Halo Reach Firefights which is similar to Strikes in Destiny. My current connections works wonders for high profile games and MMORPGs. But really, how come it won't work for a game with a maximum 16 people in one room? Even stranger is that I sometimes can play strikes with 3 guardians + multitude of enemies, but can NEVER get into Crucible matches.
I too paid $90 for the digital guardian edition hoping to enjoy this game for a long time. But I am really spent spending these last few weeks troubleshooting the shit out of these errors and really about to give up...
If I may make a suggestion: please don't assume people have kick-ass connections all over the world (maybe people with Google Fibre won't have issues) but there are people all over the world with all kinds of connections wanting to enjoy your game. If you really want to tap in to these potential customers, don't forget them Bungie. If need be, put a connection option (like Battlefield) ie. Normal / Advanced. Normal means always connected (maybe some lag), Advanced means high quality connection (no lag) but drops if it can't maintain.
Here's hoping to play Crucible sometime soon (.. really, I have only played 1 match of crucible due to always being hit by beaver errors). But for now, I am exhausted with the limitations of this game and about to lose hope.
