My fellow Titans:

Let me set the scene for you; You're just wondering around, capturing some points in control, when you decide that popping your Ward of Dawn is a good idea. Good? Great. Now you have a viable way to defend the objective for a short period of time until it goes away. ..and by 'goes away' I mean that some cocky Hunter or a snotty Warlock has come along, used their respective Super Charge and now, 3 seconds after you popped it up to relax under with a spot of Titan Tea, you are sat naked, alone, and wondering where your dead teammates are. Can any of my brothers relate? Can anyone offer a suitable explination as to why [i]our[/i] super is the weakest? When it is currently the only subclass that really promotes strategy. Rise with me, fellow Titans! Take back the Dawn! Fight for a buff! [spoiler]..or don't, I'm not your mother.[/spoiler] Edit: This thread was made with a fun little theme to it to try and avoid all the usually negativity on these forums, so thanks for everyone for keeping it civil. Edit 2: I have the saint-14 helm, and usually do very well within my precious bubble. It just makes me a sad little Titan when the super gets taken down by another super. Edit 3: Im not saying that it shouldn't be taken down when a super is used against it. What I am saying is that it shouldn't kill everything inside. The warlock and hunter supers currently just fly through it as if it wasn't there.

    • I'd love for an exotic helmet which makes the shield impenetrable, to the point where no one can enter it, save team mates. The trade off is that it offers no buffs, but can survive at least one super.

      • Yeah, a warlock super should pop the bubble and anyone with a body piece outside of it. If you're inside you should be safe. You know until the warlock starts shooting you. Buts that's a whole nother thing.

      • If a hunter shoots the bubble with the over penetrating perk on his golden gun he should be able to shoot you AT REDUCED DAMAGE. Maybe a two hit kîll not a one hit. Can you agree

        • My issue with the ward is the description. If it's Indestructible, then it should be indestructible. I don't mind supers destroying supers. That seems balanced to me. I'm more used to Sanctuary from Guardians in Guild Wars 2, where nothing gets into the bubble, it'll push people away. I loved that.

        • I completely agree it seems that the most team oriented super is almost useless while one hunter can kill your entire by spamming one button

        • Yes, Titan Defender should get a little buff to Ward of Dawn. And, the third subclass should be something like: Berserker ( Solar energy damage, Titan on Fire with increased defense, speed and melee damage [one hit kill Punch] for some time. He would burn so hot, just by being near your health would start going down)

          • The defender is pretty bad-ass i will dance inside my bubble when enemies are near and when they enter they are already dead and I don't use HELM OF SAINT-14 I throw my grenade in do a melee and i usually have 1 hunter helping me when this happens. All choas will be coordinated in just a few seconds. BUBBLES bubbles bubbles MY BUBBLES

          • i think that the bubble dose exactly what its meant to do and that is just take damage and revive if they buff it they buff it but then again the ward of dawn has no real point in pvp since people can walk in can -blam!- your day up with a shot gun but thats not the point here any way i think that its a good shiled and can take the brunt of any attack that hits it now if a dumb warlock or hunter wants to get out of it then well thats that but i cant comment on the ward of dawn being used in pvp since i find it flawed for pvp

          • After playing a Defender (not much- only to level 11). I can agree that Ward is a little lackluster. Pop super. Great. Voidwalker comes along. He jumps, and starts to Nova Bomb. [i]Shit[/i] *Dead*

          • I'm all about getting a buff to at least let team mates shoot out or the relics style shield that cleanses ild like to use shield on and off when I want not just throw it up and it stays up till it dies

          • I normally run striker in PVP unless Im playing control. When I do go defender, I use armor of light. Equip the shotgun and just wait. Rarely do I lose that dual. Especially with my saint 14 helm. Its inevitable that someone is going to step up. And its inevitable im going to punch them to death. But I do agree ward needs some help. You really need saint 14 for it to truly shine in PVE. Without it, its just a buff for your teammates because the enemies you really need it for will just walk in and beat you to death. With it though its extremely potent. But our special shouldn't require an exotic to shine. And don't get me started on striker in PVE, like bladedancers, its totally worthless past lvl 24 content.(and its iffy there)

            • The bubble works both ways, if you see a nova coming, jump out and the bubble will be toast but you will be safe, same with another titans FoH and with a hunter, if you use the perk that grants a shield inside you can mitigate the damage and survive longer by keeping the bubble between you and the hunter, not the weakest by far just how it's utilized

            • You've just described every crucible match I've played. Ward is far too weak in PvP for a purely defensive super. Fair enough if someone is dumb/brave enough to venture into our void and get a kill I have no problem with that. Just want to play on a level playing field. And occasionally dance the robot in my own little bumble.

            • Other supers take it down way too easy i agree. i always play PvP smart though, i would never just throw down my bubble if i can note that there is a high chance of the enemy having their supers ready, i'll usually wait for a few of them to blow theirs or save mine for better situation moments.

            • Ward is my favorite super. If you back up you have 2 walls between you and incoming supers. Also have an overshield and a readied weapon. Advantage Titan.

            • I agree, I'm all for having other classes being able to destroy it with their supers but when a lock can nova bomb it from across the map and still kill everyone inside I think its a bit much.

            • A titan should be invincible in his own bubble, like the warlock and hunter are dam near invincible with their supers.

              • Yeah, I a Titan 100% all the way. Really, the only plus side I see is we have the "Highest armor rating" of the 3 classes. But in Crucible that doesn't mean jack sh¡t. Warlocks being able to wipe a team off a flag in control with a Nova Bomb, Or Hunters flawlessly slaughtering your entire Skirmish Team with Arc Blade. What do we get? A storm punch that takes two hits to kill. Keep in mind, you have to be right next to the victim, who's most likely packing a boomstick. And we get a giant purple bubble with no offensive capabilities, (weapons of light, but it doesn't do much.) Why not pop your ward up and hang a flashy neon sign above it that says "Shoot me!"

                • It annoys me when my Ward is destroyed by an enemy super, but I don't necessarily think it's unbalanced. When a bladedancer comes in, I'd say they have about even odds of killing me before I kill them. Have killed many bladedancers this way. Fist of Havoc is pretty devastating, and I've crushed many shields this way as a Striker, but as a defender I've also killed many charging Titans either as they're running at me by popping out with The Devil You Know, or as they enter the shield with a shotty. When I don't think I can kill them I will sometimes back out of the shield, let them super, then finish them easily before they're combat ready again. The worst, for me, has been Nova Bomb - but even then you can kill the Warlock before he gets it off, or back out of your shield and finish him. And if you're making Strikers, Bladedancers, and Voidwalkers waste their supers to kill 1 person, you're possibly helping the team. It's also balanced by the fact that WoD seems to charge MUCH quicker than the others. There have been games where I've locked B down for minutes on end with 5+ consecutive Wards. So more often than not when I have a shield out it does not get countered by an opposing super. What I find worse as a defender is when all my team mates stack up in the WoD. Not only does it virtually guarantee that you're going to get Fisted or Bombed, but it also screws you over in the sense that you've used a super and everyone else is benefiting more from it than you are.
