Would you appreciate in-game compensation for recent downtime?
Poll to indicate the ratio of people who would appreciate in-game compensation for current server issues vs. not appreciate vs. indifferent.

2 RepliesIt's not entirely unsual. Other games I've played in the past would gift everyone small items when the severs were down, or do a 2x exp time from whenever the player logged on for the same duration as the outage. The gifts were never anything "good" per se, and certainly not disproportionate to the inconvenience, but it went a long way toward engendering good will in the game community... something I think we can all agree is a good thing.

While I understand your point and agree with it being okay in certain cases, Destiny is the only game I know of that needs a working server/established internet connection to play at all. Because of Bungies spotty servers it renders the game completely useless at server downtimes. Making most players wonder, why did I buy a game I can only play some of the time? And again why would you invest more money down the line in a game that's play is not even guaranteed? Not only would giving players compensation for their lost game time be a good thing but its almost necessary for at least apologizing to customers who are not getting what they paid for.

Would I appreciate it? Of course, that'd be awesome. Do I expect it or am I asking for it? Of course not, that'd be lame. I'm not going to say I don't play games to collect shinies, because I totally do. But I prefer by far to actually collect them, and while getting free stuff is cool, asking for free stuff is just gauche.

Hear, hear! I want some compensation for the Zebra, the Viper, and the Boar who vex me. I didn't buy this game for zoological reasons. I don't like wildlife at the best of times, but playing destiny is like being on safari.

I read what the code was about and it did not make any sense considering I'm not tethering or working off of any out side source. I had to start the whole thing over again I want compensation for kicking me and not even saving a check point. Please and thank you.

Have they ever implemented there auction house yet, or their real currency for gear. Nope, scraped the whole thing. Server issues at launch... hell yeah. PC to console port was terrible at best, but yet, with time it turned into a solid, entertaining game. Give Bungie time, they will get the bugs worked out. And yes, I'm pulling my hair out with the rest of you....

11 RepliesA lot of the downtime has been due to Xbox Live and PSN issues. Why should Bungie compensate you in game for the console's network issues?

I definitely think Bungie should consider it. Devs that gift players for their server flaws are normally respected or liked more for doing so, even if the items they give for compensation are mediocre at best. However I doubt Bungie will do so, as most game developers who do this are PC MMO's from my experience.

If you'd have asked me this question 3 or so weeks ago I would have said yes but recently I haven't had any major problems ( don't get me wrong, I do still get the occasional Bee error code that sends me back into orbit ). I do remember how frustrating it could be to start a Strike mission and make it all the way to the Boss only to be kicked back into orbit when said Boss only has a slither of life left ( happened to me several times during the Dust Palace and Devil's Lair Strike missions ), you kind of feel like you've wasted all your time and that you've been robbed of all the juicy end of mission rewards ( not that you were ever guaranteed to get anything, it's more the principle of the issue ).
