There's been lots of talk in the Destiny community about whether trading should be allowed or not.
The way things are right now, you have to work hard for your exotic gear and it must stay that way or the game will rapidly degrade and lose its soul.
The last thing I want is some farmer with a quality weapon or gear.
Exotic weapons and gear are a mark of achievement and it should stay that way. Right now we know that anyone with an armoury of exotic weapons and gear is badass (you know who you are and have a right to be proud of it).
I'm not ashamed to say I had to work pretty hard in the Crucible to get my exotic. You may be a ruthless, seasoned veteran who honed your battle skills in the treacherous, unforgiving worlds of past FPS MP, and big respect for that. So here's the question. Do you want a farmer flaying your ass in the crucible with some gear he bought down in the market from some immoral dealer with zero integrity and honour?
Introducing trading in Destiny will remove a layer of recognition, appreciation and respect. These are fundamental and essential qualities that should be protected.
I'm slowly building up my collection of exotic gear and weapons. I plan my game nights and what I chose to do, I'm careful about getting the right fireteam, people with targets I'm willing to help achieve and who do the same for me. We build friendships, trust and loyalty. There is respect. There's a story behind each exotic item. Changing things to introduce trading removes a whole dimension of integrity from the game. In fact introducing trading removes the opportunity for new gamers to discover and experience the unrecognised principles and deeper values to be found in playing Destiny beyond level 20. Bungie have crafted a game that's fun and rewarding on a lot of different levels and I fear that trading will undermine all the commitment, energy and hard work Bungie put into giving us a great game. And perhaps more importantly, the introduction of trading will cheapen then core elements of the game: the need for teamwork, the sense of individual achievement and the rewards and challenges.
How would you feel if you put in the time, attention and energy to get a particular item only to find it being traded by a mercenary? Trading diminishes the value and experience for everyone.
So, Bungie, I urge you, please do not introduce trading to Destiny.
Oh, One thing I would like to see is the ability to throw ammo synthesis to fireteam members for them to use during strikes and raids
