And let you access all the grimoir stuff there, that would solve so many issues. Then you would actually be going out, researching and gathering information for the tower. Plus, it'd make the tower less bland.

Yes! Such avid idea

They wouldn't have to build an addition room or assets, just grant access to a computer in the vanguard room with this info. Also probably want to show faction ranks in character menu too...

It would give me a reason to go to that side of the tower other then the monarchy... but an ingame grimoire would be better i guess, still i like your idea! Have a Bump.

They could just add the grimoire as a tab in your options menu. Btw if you want books, the speaker has some.

A library is still just as inconvenient as pulling out your mobile app, perhaps even more so due to having to jump through the loading screens to get to the tower. They should just be in the options UI, with a quick access audio track for those you have just collected, so you can hear them as you collect them, keeping you in the game and keeping them contextually relevant to your current actions.

A library would still have all the issues associated with the grimoire being in an app. It still requires you to go somewhere as stop to read them, and would actually take more time (loading screens) than pulling out the app. Thus we are still encumbered with the lack of context for each item. If I get a new gun with a little backstory behind it I want to know about it immediately whilst it is contextually relevant, not an hour later when I go to the tower. Perhaps a middle ground would be: 1. Gain a new grimoire 2. Icon for it appears saying press options to listen. 3. If you press options within 10seconds then it will play an audio recording of the collected grimoire, it will then be added to archives which can be accessed via the proposed library. 3b. If you don't press options it is archived in the library That way they player has the option to maintain contextual relevance and immersion whilst experiencing the lore, the option to ignore it, and we keep the coolness of having an ingame library to visit....the library npc should also have lore specific quests, or better yet a quest board for finding out new lore and history which can reward the player with things like motes of light, strange coins etc

I'd rather have a movie theater so they can tell me the story.. I dont even know how to read the grimore crap...honestly I dont care.... they should have made cut scenes to flesh out the story
-
Very good idea!

You my man, are a genius!

I like this alot... I know people heavily interested in story like myself would be interested in data searching...
-
Very good idea! Thanks for sharing with everyone.

This should be a thing.

Great idea Someone else has also mentioned class specific areas in the tower

Edited by DEZARATH: 10/20/2014 8:38:23 PMI love those nifty computers hanging around everywhere. Too bad we can't access those to read the cards.

Just put the grimoire in-game as a codex you can access through the menu.
-
That should be In the Speakers Area

nice idea

Yes please. >.> I've got another one for you. Ever play Alice: Madness returns? They effectively have that game's grimoire in the game as sound bytes where the involved characters actually speak their lines. Same could easily be done here.

Should be in the story, not a library. But if they do add one, the library area needs to have a proximity chat enabled 'mini-game' where we see who can be quiet while people read (for lulz).
