I played both almost equally. I played Halo over a longer time period but with less frequency. I had several friends that were into COD. Honestly, I didn't really use those to put a benchmark on Destiny though. Many of the elements I noticed were similar to Borderlands. In the end, for me at least, it still bears a greater similarity to that than Halo or COD.
