When you start playing Destiny, your best bet is to make titan or hunter. Warlocks always end up weaker, because the armor available to them is nowhere near as good as what other classes can equip.
* For example, take the chest slot. My co-op buddy bought the Armamentarium titan chest armor from Xur at the weekend. This is clearly the most overpowered piece of gear in the game, and anyone can have it because Xur sells it:
- Have TWO GRENADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Carry MORE ROCKETS!!
- Carry countless extra sniper or shotgun rounds
Why don't warlocks have anything like that? Nothing for that class comes even close. This makes the game severely unbalanced. Players who make a titan character instead of a warlock character have a substantial advantage in every situation.
* Another obvious example is the boot slot. Why the lack of exotic boots for the lock class? Exotic boots are available for all classes, -- but not for warlocks! Why? This results in less armour choice for warlocks and a net lack of perks obtained from armour. Titans get exotic boots. Hunters get exotic boots. Warlocks were overlooked. Bungie clearly put a lot of thought into titans and hunters, but self-evidently overlooked warlocks resulting in numerous disadvantages and oversights facing the class which all need to be addressed at some point.
I have checked all available armor for each class. It's confirmed: warlocks have the worst gear. I don't mind there being great armor for other classes. What I do mind is that there is nothing that comes close for locks. Destiny was supposed to be a game in which one class does not have an advantage over the others. That is not the case, mainly due to unbalanced gear. Forget the negligible 1% buff or nerf that Bungie applies to weapons.to improve balance. Look at the huge difference between gear available to different classes.
I dearly hope Xur has Voidfang Vestments again this weekend. I didn't have enough coins for it the previous week, after buying Ice Breaker. I genuinely needed to buy IB when it was sold, because having played every day since day 1 I have literally never had any legendary or exotic weapon drops -- not even one! By comparison, my co-op buddy plays the same games as I do but and gets so much gear he has to shard it to clear space in his vault. Players who get drops don't know how lucky they are. When they switch weapons they are upgrading three weapons as they play. I have to waste kills on upgraded weapons until I save to buy a weapon from Xur or a Vendor. My co-op buddy doesn't usually buy charity handout gear from Xur, because he doesn't have to due to always getting drops, but I really do need it.
EDIT: This is a post about the imbalance of GEAR between classes. Nascent class balance is a more complex issue beyond the scope of this thread. However, the classes are well balanced in this game. If that were not so Bungie would have addressed that before the minor weapon balancing that we are seeing.

Okay okay.. Let's look at it this way.. There obviously is a reason for the fact that warlocks have 'lesser' gear. I mean cmon! The classes are meant to be different. If I wanted to be a tanky class, I choose Titan. Let's face it, they are the toughest class in the game, but their agility is terrible. But what if I want agility? Oh, I know! A hunter! Super fast to get in and out of combat without dying. (Did I mention that they die super fast?) no? Well, they die super fast. I wonder what counters being low health all the time? !!!lets play a Warlock! #superhealthrecovery! #insanelypowerfulgreades! #selfrevive! Yep, warlocks are pretty much awesome. Who needs good gear when you are as awesome as a 'lock? *Rant rant rant* Point is this: Make 3 characters... 1 of each class.. Experience the joy of ... Wait for it... Variety! *bam!* you can now play destiny and enjoy the game in your own way! ..I think I'll go now and *ahem* Become Legend!
-
I find my Titan to be the weakest because Armor means nothing. Agility and recovery are more clear benefits. Warlocks also have axion bolt nades. Which are awesome.
-
You know warlock sunsingers can have 2 or even 3 grenades with star fire protocol right?
-
If you've been playing every day for longer than 3 hours and you still don't have an exotic than I suggest u give up and get a better game.... Because this one is broken ..... Especially the 'alleged rng'
-
Dumb ass
-
U mad bro?
-
Im a warlock and i carry 7 rockets with my armor.

Edited by Brax420: 12/15/2014 2:17:12 AMJust cause you suck with a warlock doesn't mean everyone does (I want the new chest plate for lock fusion grenade one) Edit: also I use armantariun... Yeah it is cool having 2 grenades... Just like the warlock ability
-
Are you kidding!!! I kick ass with my warlock. My buddy is a titan, and maybe it's because he sucks, but I constantly have to save his ass and protect the guy.

I have all three classes and each has there own pros and cons and if used correctly all beasts. The warlock is one of my favs. I have to play differently with each class and all have there own perks with exotics and armors that when used correctly enhance gameplay and abilities. Of you make a warlock with gear that has the right combination with with high intellect and discipline and wear the exotic priaxsis coat your practically the second coming of armageden with the sunsinger there's so many set ups in this game that make it excellent to play with
-
Doesn't the warlock (Sunsinger) special let them have 4-5 grenades per super? And also self-res? I'm not saying you're entirely wrong, just seems like locks do have some advantages over other classes, rather than it being all one sided as you suggest.
-
I'm a warlock. Can confirm. OP is a bundle of sticks.
-
My sunsinger has 2 grenades, can bring itself back to life, has insane armour and recovery, and when I die in pvp i respawn with both grenades + have extended reach and an extra seeker with axiom bolt grenades (from my exotic voidfang).
-
They aren't dresses, they are opposed to be trench coat like things
-
What about the obsidian mind helmet
-
This is YOUR Opinion, Not ours. Warlocks are better than you think.
-
In case noone said it yet. Your an idiot or a great troll.all of your points are false. There is no pre dlc exotic legs. Warlock has two nades in tge talent tree....so on and so on
-
There isn't anything that double dips the abilities they have.
-
Im thinking its opposite. I rarely get killed by Titans. They are by far the weakest player. Absolutely no range to its supers. While Im getting bombed by Warlocks or they get SUPER health while Im wiping a squad. Hey, maybe they will just revive themselves while I have my back turned. Warlock is obviously the most powerful class in PvP. They can even super past MY bubble shield which is complete BS. How can one super eliminate another super? Except mine to yours... Multiple kills with one super easily. Hunters can dissapear, turn into GOD ninjas, or single shot me even if I have an overshield from a mile away. Hell, they can even teleport in mid air and kill my ass. Same thing here. This ninja can -blam!- my in my own bubble. Multiple kills with one super easily. As a Titan I have to risk my balls everytime I need to jump anywhere or I have to make the attempt to risk my life to get close enough to wipe more than one person with my super. We're obviously easy to spot and slow to move. The Titan is by far the worst class.
-
Nice troll my good sir, you are officially part of the secret society of Internet agitators now come inside and give us a troll face
-
... dude, 1 thing the warlock has over the armamentarium is that a (sunsinger) warlock can carry 2 granades due to 1 of the last 3 perks without having to use a specific piece of armor... geez are u retarded, have u not seen the perk/skill tree before b!tching??? if there is anyone who deserves a 2nd granade its the hunters, i main a warlock so dont go about saying, "oh, u hunter elitists suck". carrying more rounds of special weapons is fairly common on armors, ill say that carrying more heavy is less comon as a perk ill give ya that, i think 1 piece of exotic armor for each class lets them carry more heavy and special at the same time so that doesnt matter, hunters should have an extra granade perk on 1 of their armors tho, that i do agree with.
-
Dude... Use a warlock for 2 months and you'll realize their abilities stack. You're obviously a dip shit to put this lightly.
-
I have been a warlock for quite a while now and tbh I think the warlock is one of the best. First. The nova bomb. Boom kill multiple enemies easy. Second. Sunsinger. We can revive ourself. On crucible someone kills u. Your like revived. Surprise. And thirdly we have two grenades. We can hover and shoot and still look sexy as hell.
-
Ahem, Self Rez 2 'nades Baller 'nades Freaky fast recovery Incredible melee range Baller supers list goes on
-
I have to disagree sir. I'm pretty satisfied with my warlock. Void walker and sun singer are both awesome in their own ways. Sunsinger can self revive, the Nova lance is a bomb of death and destruction, void walkers have blink, sunsinger can carry two grenades when it's maxed. Warlock FTW.
-
Our gear for warlocks is garbage for the most part I agree. But I can put on whites and still have more fun, can survive better than almost any hunter. When I go Sun singer my Sunbreaker gauntlets combined with ignition dot damage and self rez essentially breaks crucible
