When you start playing Destiny, your best bet is to make titan or hunter. Warlocks always end up weaker, because the armor available to them is nowhere near as good as what other classes can equip.
* For example, take the chest slot. My co-op buddy bought the Armamentarium titan chest armor from Xur at the weekend. This is clearly the most overpowered piece of gear in the game, and anyone can have it because Xur sells it:
- Have TWO GRENADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Carry MORE ROCKETS!!
- Carry countless extra sniper or shotgun rounds
Why don't warlocks have anything like that? Nothing for that class comes even close. This makes the game severely unbalanced. Players who make a titan character instead of a warlock character have a substantial advantage in every situation.
* Another obvious example is the boot slot. Why the lack of exotic boots for the lock class? Exotic boots are available for all classes, -- but not for warlocks! Why? This results in less armour choice for warlocks and a net lack of perks obtained from armour. Titans get exotic boots. Hunters get exotic boots. Warlocks were overlooked. Bungie clearly put a lot of thought into titans and hunters, but self-evidently overlooked warlocks resulting in numerous disadvantages and oversights facing the class which all need to be addressed at some point.
I have checked all available armor for each class. It's confirmed: warlocks have the worst gear. I don't mind there being great armor for other classes. What I do mind is that there is nothing that comes close for locks. Destiny was supposed to be a game in which one class does not have an advantage over the others. That is not the case, mainly due to unbalanced gear. Forget the negligible 1% buff or nerf that Bungie applies to weapons.to improve balance. Look at the huge difference between gear available to different classes.
I dearly hope Xur has Voidfang Vestments again this weekend. I didn't have enough coins for it the previous week, after buying Ice Breaker. I genuinely needed to buy IB when it was sold, because having played every day since day 1 I have literally never had any legendary or exotic weapon drops -- not even one! By comparison, my co-op buddy plays the same games as I do but and gets so much gear he has to shard it to clear space in his vault. Players who get drops don't know how lucky they are. When they switch weapons they are upgrading three weapons as they play. I have to waste kills on upgraded weapons until I save to buy a weapon from Xur or a Vendor. My co-op buddy doesn't usually buy charity handout gear from Xur, because he doesn't have to due to always getting drops, but I really do need it.
EDIT: This is a post about the imbalance of GEAR between classes. Nascent class balance is a more complex issue beyond the scope of this thread. However, the classes are well balanced in this game. If that were not so Bungie would have addressed that before the minor weapon balancing that we are seeing.

You say this until you're on a hard raid and can't self resurrect like a warlock can. Then which is the weaker class, the one that can self res or the supposedly tougher Titan?
-
Still enjoy my warlock. Took 1/2 the time to level as my titan.
-
My warlock is my 3rd character. I love my warlock more than my first character: a titan and my second: hunter.
-
Look at obsidian mind for a warlock (it's on mine). It's OP as F! Also, a warlock can have voidfang chest (spawn with grenades) and 2 grenades of they are a sunsinger
-
Ur a moron who is buthurt because his first choice was warlock and it wasent what he wanted it to be.
-
obsidian helm is ridiculous, seems to be the best exotic in game now. Can basically spam nova bombs.
-
The starlite protocol is the armentarium for the warlocks.
-
Behold!!! A warlock wrecking face. http://youtu.be/DvnHGAj0-Rs But how? He only has one grenade.
-
There's a new exotic Warlock chest piece that gives an extra solar fusion grenade, it's called "Starfire Protocol" I believe. This doesn't stack with the "Gift of the Sun" perk, however.
-
what a dumbass post. the arme gives a sunsinger perk, ahamkara helmet gives a titan perk. do people actually use other than the helmets and chests besides ahamkara hunters? youve got a class that has a pocket rocket launcher, blink and heatseeking grenades; and a subclass that has self res, a melee that gives u a -blam!-ing overshield and sticky grenadesx2x11 with an ult. what a waste of a thread. i want a refund for the time spent reading and responding- i should have watched cat videos. jesus.
-
Ah dude no just no learn to use em!
-
Don't tell me what to do

They're meant to sit back a bit and take out enemy's from a distance. That's why the armor isn't that great defense wise. They were designed to be a strategic based class.

Warlocks are the master race ;)
-
Well 1... We don't need a chest piece for 2 grenades so that titan piece is worthless 2nd we have the grenade and fire spam known as heart of praxic fire which EVEN FURTHER decreases your already about 1 second cool downs + viking funeral so grenades set enemies on fire.. With the longer radiance perk I can throw 14-18 fusion grenades at a boss and destroy in pve. It also gives us more heavy ammo and more fusion rifle ammo. Then there's obsidian mind. Nova bomb kills grant super energy and it has inverse shadow. Throw in bad juju and you'll get more supers than you can ever use. Think that blows all your armor out the water. Did I mention voidfang + gift of the sun + fusion grenades does quite nice on crucible?
-
Agree completely, my helmet that gives me unlimited spamming of nova bomb is not enough! I want more!
-
If anything warlocks and Titans are the most OP, hunters seem like the class that require the most skill to play.
-
Void fang. Two grenades every life. Pvp madness. Fusionfun.com Amaterium doesn't do that.
-
Lol UR an idiot arent u. warlocks have better abilities are more skilful and give the other classes a woopin
-
Didn't even need to read this post to know its false lol. I picked warlock because magic tends to own in games lol. And yeah self revive is pointless especially in hard raids when u can respawn.... Logic none. I have 3 warlocks I think it's because warlocks are the weakest of the 3 for pve.... Herp n derp
-
Yeah as a warlock that spawns giant bombs from my hand, self revives, and regens all my health in two seconds. I am clearly terrible.
-
I have to agree, but then again I like playing as my pin cushion titan.
-
You have no idea what you are talking about.
-
Eh, there's actually some pretty good warlock gear. Some chestpieces allow for extra heavy ammo, the starfire protocol gives sunsingers an extra fusion grenade, and obsidian mind allows players to almost fully restore their nova bomb just by using their nova bomb. But hey, I certainly wouldn't mind a buff to the already decent gear we have.
-
Let me educate you you -blam!- I have been playing warlock since day one and can your hunter or titan self res in the night fall or the raids can you throw a huge blast into a group of engines and label it -blam!- every body I think not
-
They call me Rambo when I have my Armamentariam equipped.
