When you start playing Destiny, your best bet is to make titan or hunter. Warlocks always end up weaker, because the armor available to them is nowhere near as good as what other classes can equip.
* For example, take the chest slot. My co-op buddy bought the Armamentarium titan chest armor from Xur at the weekend. This is clearly the most overpowered piece of gear in the game, and anyone can have it because Xur sells it:
- Have TWO GRENADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Carry MORE ROCKETS!!
- Carry countless extra sniper or shotgun rounds
Why don't warlocks have anything like that? Nothing for that class comes even close. This makes the game severely unbalanced. Players who make a titan character instead of a warlock character have a substantial advantage in every situation.
* Another obvious example is the boot slot. Why the lack of exotic boots for the lock class? Exotic boots are available for all classes, -- but not for warlocks! Why? This results in less armour choice for warlocks and a net lack of perks obtained from armour. Titans get exotic boots. Hunters get exotic boots. Warlocks were overlooked. Bungie clearly put a lot of thought into titans and hunters, but self-evidently overlooked warlocks resulting in numerous disadvantages and oversights facing the class which all need to be addressed at some point.
I have checked all available armor for each class. It's confirmed: warlocks have the worst gear. I don't mind there being great armor for other classes. What I do mind is that there is nothing that comes close for locks. Destiny was supposed to be a game in which one class does not have an advantage over the others. That is not the case, mainly due to unbalanced gear. Forget the negligible 1% buff or nerf that Bungie applies to weapons.to improve balance. Look at the huge difference between gear available to different classes.
I dearly hope Xur has Voidfang Vestments again this weekend. I didn't have enough coins for it the previous week, after buying Ice Breaker. I genuinely needed to buy IB when it was sold, because having played every day since day 1 I have literally never had any legendary or exotic weapon drops -- not even one! By comparison, my co-op buddy plays the same games as I do but and gets so much gear he has to shard it to clear space in his vault. Players who get drops don't know how lucky they are. When they switch weapons they are upgrading three weapons as they play. I have to waste kills on upgraded weapons until I save to buy a weapon from Xur or a Vendor. My co-op buddy doesn't usually buy charity handout gear from Xur, because he doesn't have to due to always getting drops, but I really do need it.
EDIT: This is a post about the imbalance of GEAR between classes. Nascent class balance is a more complex issue beyond the scope of this thread. However, the classes are well balanced in this game. If that were not so Bungie would have addressed that before the minor weapon balancing that we are seeing.

I actually prefer using my Warlock. To each their own.
-
Um no I roll a warlock and I pwn Titans like they're nothing my defense is just as high as a hunter doesn't matter the class it's just how you play them. I love ripping down Titans with my warlock haha warlock ftw
-
Fyi everyone, when I said guns a blazing brutes, that was not an insult. That style certainly is needed. Especially for you young guys that still have good eyes and twitch reflexes, to hold your own up close.
-
-
Warlocks have gift of the sun, 2 grenades lol
-
I keep seeing you respond claiming that you are only arguing that armor is unfair. That's exactly your problem. The game is not designed to be balanced on singular stats but on all stats and kit design. You ignoring the information does not make your point more valid.
-
I agree, I wish warlocks had better gear available.
-
Considering your Titan is only level 2 and your Warlock is 28. Maybe you should get to 20 on your Titan. Check out its armors based on the character. And reevaluate. I have both these characters over 26. Nothing is unequal for me when it comes to armor or the naked character itself.
-
Warlocks have the most powerful abilities dude are you dumb? There is a reason why warlocks have the weakest armor. They can also resurrect themselves no, no other class can. You must by titty at this game dude
-
I never feel under geared as a warlock, and I have a Titan to compare it with!
-
Glass cannons my friend, warlocks are what they say, they can dish but can't take. Best used to disrupt the battlefield, mid to long range. They're for those of us that see the pattern of battle, we are stratagist, not just some guns a blazing brutes. We're the type that value revives, overwatch, captures, etc. Not kill counts.
-
I am a Warlock. I look -blam-ing cool. Hands down the coolest. And I don't care if a Titan gets an extra rocket. I'm pretty sure I can still put a sniper bullet in his skull. I also get revived faster, thanks to Light Beyond Nemesis, and that really helps, especially when both my teammates are down on the Nightfall strike. Warlocks are only as good as you expect them to be. I expect mine to become legend. And he's a boss.
-
Pahaha yeah ok, I play a warlock, definitely not underpowered and the most fun out of the three. It's all down to personal play style
-
What about fire shield? What about having 2 grenades what about being able to hover in the same spot while in the air??? Stop moaning about what you don't have and look at what you do have. Try change some of your subclass abilities you might be pleasantly surprised.
-
Seriously dude have you played the game? Warlocks get work done better than anyone else.
-
As a sun singer I have two nades all the time. The titan needs to wear that specific piece. Not over powered in my opinion.
-
You are aware that the armor compliments the play style. Like the heart of praxic fire. With 2 grenades already and using your super you can throw out 14 grenades. You should read up on other armor than just that and it also gives you more heavy ammo. So you tell me what's better 2 grenades or 14?

And my grenade cool downs are super fast ;) long live the warlock

Someone needs to play their warlock for more than 5 min. Smdh

Heart of praxioc or what ever its called
-
Stupid thread. You've never completed the raid. Need I say more? no.
-
Perhaps you haven't even fully upgraded the warlock sub classes, because half of your argument is about titan getting two grenades; the warlock has a class upgrade to have two grenades all the time, allowing him to not need a armor piece to have two. All the classes are good for different play styles. They are balanced in different ways. Stop complaining about stupid, false arguments and try contributing some constructed feedback to make the game better rather than more complaining.

I'm a level 28 warlock and I agree
-
The warlock has the Most survivability. Your reasons are flawed, you are a communist. Murica

Sunsingers can have 2 grenades without having to wear a certain price of armour. I'm a level 30 warlock and it's my favourite class, I'm pretty good at killing a whole room of baddies and not going down. Troll post maybe?
