It's really annoying to have to wait for people to get on to form a group for Raids, Nightfalls and Heroic strikes, especially since we can't go to a public area like the Tower and recruit due to the voice chat restrictions imposed in the game. Not to mention it's hard to find people of the right level as well. Matchmaking would make this so much easier and make getting gear and leveling it less of a hassle.
The Matchmaking could look for players of similar level to match you with to make sure you're not going in with anyone too low to survive, as well as balance the group by diversifying the classes, bringing in 2 of each class for raids (2 titan, 2 warlock, 2 hunter) and one of each for the Nightfall and Heroic strikes.
While on the topic of Strikes, it would also behoove the player base if we could finally be able to voice chat with our random fire team members instead of having to form parties through the dashboard (X360 and XB1 versions). This should also be allowed in the Tower as well so those who are looking to form specific groups of people for Raids can do so much easier by simply talking to those around them. Being able to openly communicate with others is a staple of MMOs. Not allowing us to do is counter intuitive towards the game play in Destiny.
Also, we should be able to choose the difficulty of the Raids between normal and hard. The same goes for regular strikes as well. We should be able to play strikes up to level 30 as well as difficulty modifiers for players to challenge themselves. The higher the level and difficulty modifiers, the greater the rewards.
With the addition of PoE, matchmaking should be added for all modes of that activity as well, not just level 28.

No don't. I don't want to try and complete a raid that requires communication when you get matched with a group of people with no mics.
-
This game could be the best ever with Raid matchmaking, sign me in.

Edited by Spyndrikal: 2/5/2015 6:47:11 PMI'm fine with them adding matchmaking to raids. I hope you realize it's just going to be a bunch of disorganized guys running around without mics. It's going to be full of people who troll and go afk
-
I've got to say that I would LOVE if they added matchmaking into raids. The reason I, and maybe others, want this is because I can't play the raids. I have only one person I KNOW who has destiny, and we can't exactly do a raid with just us now, can we? now I know some people will think "why don't you just look for people here". why? because I prefer not talking to random people I've never met before unless it's ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY or having to become friends with said people just so I can play a game mode about once or twice. Additionally, some of the people who I'd have to find would end up taking the game way too seriously and going batshit crazy because I did something wrong, like c'mon! sorry I haven't been able to play it a billion times and master it, blame Bungie! As well as this, I just find it stupid that they have a feature in the game that's only playable if you have 5 friends to play with, as I mentioned before I don't, so I'm missing out on what sounds like a really exciting part of the game! I'd like to enjoy destiny, not get bored of it as I can't play some features of it because I have few friends.

I am all for adding matchmaking for the weekly and maybe the nightfall. However I am very much against matchmaking for the raid.
-
Everything but the raid
-
Definitely raid matchmaking. I am level 26 and my friends all play either FIFA or NBA. Some of them have destiny but they are not enough to complete a raid

Edited by Jcpeace7: 12/10/2014 1:30:24 AMI really don't get it, why not at least offer the option for matchmaking and if it doesn't work out players don't have to select it. Its so hard to find a group for these things and its the only way to get some of the good loot. If I could meet the guy standing between the players and making this happen I would kick him in the nutz!
-
They need to add matchmaking or some way to conveniently chat with people. It's a god damn MMO. If you get into a group with some who's shit in a raid or weekly you just leave and re-que for it. It's standard procedure and it's to be expected in all honesty. It's like what's more frustrating? Attempting to run the weekly nightfall and failing multiple times, giving up an re-gueing, or getting up from your comfy recliner to go into another room to check a web site to find a group, and not being able to find anyone who wants to run it?
-
I don't understand the people who entirely disagree. It would be an OPTION YOU wouldn't have to partake in matchmaking. It's not a replacement its an O-P-T-I-O-N. It's silly how this already isn't in the game. Especially the heroic strikes.
-
Either matchmaking, or some form of LFG "shout" system in the Tower.
-
What about AFK or fake afk lazy -blam!-s?? Ran the new 26 strike earlier both runs had at least 1 guy still at spawn area or just standing back not shooting. Yeah, having someone doing that in a Nightfall...no thanks. But, other than the afk bs I run into so often I'm for it...
-
if there is raid matchmaking and one guy quits I dont want some random joining... Now I can't remember if there is a way to keep this from happening but if not... HECK NO
-
I agree with the nightfall and heroic but not the raid matchmaking. As someone whos done the raid multiple times with alot of different people i can say that one person screwing up will screw everything up and with matchmaking you could be put in with those people and dont forget the trolls also you dont need to speak with everyone but it helps immensely and not everybody will put in their mic
-
Can it at least be an OPTION for us lazy folks? Who don't care who we get matched with? Would the servers crash??
-
This poll clearly demonstrates that the people who do not want matchmaking are a very vocal minority
-
As much as I want this to happen, Bungie has already said "we have no plans for that right now" many people want this, an the fact that Bungie hasn't done so already? Makes me doubt that they actually listen to the community.
-
Not on raids, but heroic would be nice
-
1) No raid or nightfall matchmaking cause many people want to solo it or we will have to deal with AFK teammates like tiger strikes. 2) In the game as of now, but nobody even uses it though it is in the game. 3) Could be greatly abused to get a lower level better gear. Ex: Lvl 24 joins strike and lvl 30 carries him through. Lvl 24 has chances to get armor to reach 30 by doing nothing. Though matchmaking would be nice, I think Bungie should fix some problems before doing this. My argument is that there would be a increase in bottom feeders. People who do nothing to get the best gear. Even if it was an option to turn on or off, there would still be people who are doin it cause they have no friends online and need to do the raid/nightfall and aren't skilled enough to do it themselves. They would then be filled with perhaps at least 1 AFK person and make the raid/nightfall still impossible to do. So I don't think so.
-
Would be nice, but since Weekly/Nightfall is locked but expansion, Bungie only sees $$$
-
I'd like to see a system where you can choose whether or not to enter matchmaking. That way if I want a challenge and want to solo the Nightfall (or maybe because I'm just feeling reclusive) I can still do that. But there are times I want to play with a group or need more people for something like the Raid. I haven't played the VoG in three weeks because my friends and I can't find a time for at least five of us to play together. It's frustrating.
-
Yes. The fact that this shit isn't in the game a month n a half later is almost insulting
-
Learn to play.... Fuxking easy alone !!!
-
Not in in its current form, no. I like being able to solo Heroic and Nightfall, plus some people like to 4 or 5 man the raid. Forcing matchmaking will prevent that. If matchmaking was on a toggle, I'd agree it would be ok. Matchmaking for Raid is asking for AFKers, where AFKing would be a complete waste of the other people's time. I could still solo a Nightfall/Heroic if there was an AFKer.

Edited by Barbatos: 10/20/2014 4:38:56 PMDefinitely weekly/nightfall matchmaking. I'ved asked people in the Tower only to be ignored. Posted on the forums only to have unreliable people respond. Half ignore my invites and the other half are useless. Heck got two guys to join me for nightfall yesterday and they were useless. One kept charging into the mobs only to die over and over and the other spent alot of time dancing. Why can't I get decent teamplayers not Rambo or Kevin Bacon? For anyone who argues matchmaking runs the risk of getting putting together with useless randoms I can say the samething about looking for teammates yourself.
