It's really annoying to have to wait for people to get on to form a group for Raids, Nightfalls and Heroic strikes, especially since we can't go to a public area like the Tower and recruit due to the voice chat restrictions imposed in the game. Not to mention it's hard to find people of the right level as well. Matchmaking would make this so much easier and make getting gear and leveling it less of a hassle.
The Matchmaking could look for players of similar level to match you with to make sure you're not going in with anyone too low to survive, as well as balance the group by diversifying the classes, bringing in 2 of each class for raids (2 titan, 2 warlock, 2 hunter) and one of each for the Nightfall and Heroic strikes.
While on the topic of Strikes, it would also behoove the player base if we could finally be able to voice chat with our random fire team members instead of having to form parties through the dashboard (X360 and XB1 versions). This should also be allowed in the Tower as well so those who are looking to form specific groups of people for Raids can do so much easier by simply talking to those around them. Being able to openly communicate with others is a staple of MMOs. Not allowing us to do is counter intuitive towards the game play in Destiny.
Also, we should be able to choose the difficulty of the Raids between normal and hard. The same goes for regular strikes as well. We should be able to play strikes up to level 30 as well as difficulty modifiers for players to challenge themselves. The higher the level and difficulty modifiers, the greater the rewards.
With the addition of PoE, matchmaking should be added for all modes of that activity as well, not just level 28.

If they made it optional I would be fine with it. But it would be terrible if it was forced. I have lost track of the number of times somebody got disconnected during a raid or nightfall and had to join back in. Add in the fact everyone has that incredibly slow friend that is never ready to go, so we occasionally start down one person and they can join once they get it together. We have a solid team, if we want to do crota on hard with four or five people that should be our choice, sometimes a smaller team presents less opportunity for errors.
-
110% retarded, you want people in your team who are reliable not randoms, people like you are just bitching because no one will let you in the raid end of you scrubbbbssss.
-
Add matchmaking to whatever you want, just please give me the option to 'opt out'. If I want to 5 man Atheon, 4 man Crota or 2 man nightfall then I should be able to instead of bringing a random along for the ride.
-
The nightfalls should have it. Because it's not significantly different than the weekly. Raids no. I like making teams and its not that hard. The barrier to entry keeps people from trolling / getting carried.
-
I totally agree with adding matchmaking to these thing. I never have enough time to do them all and have been getting really bored with them lately but still want my loots. I'm sure my friends would do it for me but to if this gets added I can pull the old rubber band out and get some randys to do it for me. PLEASE ADD BUNGIE!

This issue of not being able to clear my daily/nightfall quickly & conveniently, combined with user friendly day1 vault options, which are now exclusive to a second screen & investment in an exspensice phone, is pushing a potential lifetime customer away. I pre-ordered special ed, love it, but these features, incl vol sliders are essential *ingame. official feedback please
-
I disagree because you would end up having an afk shit or inexperienced player trying to do a raid with you and leech.
-
Matchmaking for raids is the dumbest idea ever.
-
Have some free time, loaded up game, cant get party togeter for daily, or nightfall, nevermind trying to take up everyones' time for both. Give us matchmaking, so i/we, can play your game, that devs & gamers alike, have invested so much time, emotion & finances in., (vol sliders/vault app features ingame, high priority too ty)
-
Raids and nightfall shouldn't. But heroic might be ok for a matchmade game.
-
Matchmaking would be great feature. And I just think down the road when I want to do vault of glass, but no one in the forms or lfg site wanna do it because everyone wants to do the newest raid and to resort to matchmaking... Praying to god I get people that have done it before...or at least have a mic... Yeah...I could see that happening a lot.
-
I'm all for it. I don't see how matchmaking is any different than using the forums or lfg in terms of possibly getting bad players.
-
I'm all for matchmaking on the Heroic and Nightfall. The Raid, however, I'm mixed. No, because you'd get noobs (or scrubs, as they're being called now). But also yes, because putting matchmaking in and people who do it are obviously interested in it, and you could luck out and get a good team. Just like everything else in this game, it's all about the luck.

As it stands atm, wether randoms in the tower or from your friends list, inv multiple users requires a seperate inv for each user. Have you tried inv to 10 or so people, one by one, its great fun. Someway to highlight desired user (tick box,), that you wish to inv in one collective inv msg.

Edited by E8BALL: 2/26/2015 5:06:59 AMWe need matchmaking for all competitive modes bungie, why just update the weekly? It took me 6days to get a nightfall togther last week out of over 150psn contacts. Time is precious, if people want to make a team for co op fine, but give people the choice, as it stands, i dread nightfalls, as i prev did weekly. Please add universal co op matchmaking & take the stress out of this. (muscic/vol slider would be user friendly too)
-
Yeah I srsly need matchmaking, as someone w/o a mic it's hard to even start a raid unless my friends invite me. Plus even though I get the general concept of how to complete stages of the raids I still sometimes get booted simply for lacking a mic, and some ppl just give up too easliy when I can keep going. I know bungie intends for us to cooperate and make lots of friends to complete this mode, but I can do it w/o a mic and w/o someone carrying me. Even though some random players might end up -blam!-ing us over through matchmaking (since not everyone gets how to raid), I honestly don't care, even if they can't get booted they will either A. Give up, then eventually more competent players will pop up in our fireteams or B. They will start to understand and get better. My solution for this: 1. Make all matchmaking optional for all modes 2. Add tutorial mode for raids so you can start understanding the raid anytime
-
I understand the raid not having it but the nightfall and heroic need matchmaking.
-
people should be able to join my fireteam through the game interface if i have it set to public , in addition i should have the ability to determine the minimal level and class i want to open the spot for players who would look for a party , would select the type of strike/raid and get a list of public parties they eligible to join its not rocket science , its there in all good games , but bungie doesnt care to make the game convenient and the biggest irony is people even defend this BS having to spam forum for hours just to get to play the game
-
All but raids would be fine. But either way I'd still prefer an in game lfg system.

Edited by Onyx, Son of Carti: 2/12/2015 8:40:13 AMWhat about kicking. I just got kicked from the nightfall by two level 28 guys i carried because they were shit. Thinking they actually did damage which they didn't .i needed around two more mags to kill sekrion. I think the highest level player should be the party leader in fireteams.
-
Edited by Liefglinde: 2/5/2015 8:07:00 PMThere is absolutely no reason why Nightfall and Heroic shouldn't have matchmaking. I'm not going to comment on raids.
-
Matchmaking for heroic and nightfall. Not raids.
-
More than 80% people vote for adding matchmaking? Wow, why does it change. I can't count how many people hated adding matchmaking for raid last year.
-
I don't understand why anyone would have a problem with matchmaking. Nobody would force you to use it. If you prefer forming your own groups via the forums or other, go ahead!
-
I dont understand who can vote against matchmaking. Why? If you can make your own raid team its fine, you can do it old way. You can join strike with full fireteam and bypass matchmaking - no problemo. Its similar. But if you cant create full raid fireteam then matchmaking will help you find players.
-
No don't. I don't want to try and complete a raid that requires communication when you get matched with a group of people with no mics.
