It's really annoying to have to wait for people to get on to form a group for Raids, Nightfalls and Heroic strikes, especially since we can't go to a public area like the Tower and recruit due to the voice chat restrictions imposed in the game. Not to mention it's hard to find people of the right level as well. Matchmaking would make this so much easier and make getting gear and leveling it less of a hassle.
The Matchmaking could look for players of similar level to match you with to make sure you're not going in with anyone too low to survive, as well as balance the group by diversifying the classes, bringing in 2 of each class for raids (2 titan, 2 warlock, 2 hunter) and one of each for the Nightfall and Heroic strikes.
While on the topic of Strikes, it would also behoove the player base if we could finally be able to voice chat with our random fire team members instead of having to form parties through the dashboard (X360 and XB1 versions). This should also be allowed in the Tower as well so those who are looking to form specific groups of people for Raids can do so much easier by simply talking to those around them. Being able to openly communicate with others is a staple of MMOs. Not allowing us to do is counter intuitive towards the game play in Destiny.
Also, we should be able to choose the difficulty of the Raids between normal and hard. The same goes for regular strikes as well. We should be able to play strikes up to level 30 as well as difficulty modifiers for players to challenge themselves. The higher the level and difficulty modifiers, the greater the rewards.
With the addition of PoE, matchmaking should be added for all modes of that activity as well, not just level 28.

I wouldn't say matchmaking, but maybe LFG in the game itself. Like a billboard showing guardian requests. It would show their GT and gear. Then request to join. You'll know who you'll be fighting with. You'll who what their using.

Bump.

Edited by Bungolickstaints: 8/21/2015 6:58:30 PMSupport. Though use rather there be an in-game LFG system. Bungie: "Hey, find your friends and make your legacy. But there's no Ingame chat or any way to find people. Use Reddit Lols. Bungie out!" I basically quit Destiny because of no way to find raid partners. And I tell all my friends to stay away from Destiny, because I know they'll enjoy the game for awhile, then end up disappointed. (This is coming from someone with like, 30-40 raid completions and over 300 hours played)

Only problem with this is afkers
-
Literally just putting an LFG system into the game would fix all problems but might cost money for bungie
-
Deej: our end game contents is very hard such as nightfall, raid, PoE and ToO, especially nightfall is super duper hard, you will need a solid team and great communication to beat it, that's why no OMM for you. Why not seek each other out here and band together. Oh and I just want to nerf gjallarhorn as a punishment to those asking for OMM.
-
Ps weekly heroic already has a matchmaking lol
-
The problem with matchmaking for raids is that there will be many many people afking, tons without mics, a bunch that will just quit halfway through. It's much better as is. It really isn't all that hard to find a group through the forums.

I can't see why they cannot implement matchmaking into the nightfalls but for raids I can see why not because I would rather solo crota then carry a moaning little kid through it who is going to mess things up .however I'm always happy to help people do the raids as long as they listen and be polite

Every thing else but raids

Edited by KannibalKlown: 8/16/2015 1:42:22 AMI'm fine with adding nightfall match making. That's annoying that we have to find our own teams. And night falls are just normal strikes but a lot harder. But I'm fine with raids relying on us doing the finding Otherwise you get 5 people that have no clue, speak different languages, don't have mics, and dont have a clue. At all. Then raids will fail and people will bitch on the Internet about how bad the raid is designed or whatever. Then either the game gets an even worse rep or they make the raids a lot easier Most games I've played leave raid team creation up to the players. But they also tend to have some mechanic in game to help out instead of relying on a 3rd party website
-
Not for raids, but Nightfall I'd be down for.
-
I vote no. Simple. Matchmaking already allows for someone to hang out in a strike without doing anything without the option of getting booted. Imagine being in a matchmaking raid and getting that one person. You would need to all back out and invite everyone except that one person. If the matchmaking is optional and can be triggered on or off at any time then ok.
-
Matchmaking No, Optional matchmaking Yes
-
I agree. I would like to add that a destinylfg-like feature would even be better.

If matchmaking is added then how can you one man if and then brag?
-
Do it already Bungie!!
-
They just need add and in game looking for group function instead of having an activity pre destined as only matchmaking or only strike team. I understand what their saying about bad groups possibly decreasing in game experience but we're not babies, I'm more disappointed with my experience of paying $20-$40 for every expansion and then having the vast majority of it be new content I'll never get to play until there is a matchmaking system
-
Yes, it is a good idea! From a different perspective, I am in my thirties with a career, wife, and two kids. I don't have time to try and meet people online and form parties. The few times I was lucky enough to get invited to some raids while in the tower, half the groups would get seriously upset just because I don't have a mic (or really just don't feel like talking cause there's a lot going on at home), even though I know what to do and am doing all the work!! Since the weekly has turned to matchmaking, and the first prison of elders, I've had no problem with players.
-
Just got off work at 6pm, on the weekly reset. No luck finding a team to do Nightfall with after about 20 some messages on several online services including LFG and Bungies own site. Everybody already did it i guess?? Man this blows.. Sure do wish there was matchmaking for Nightfall

Edited by Sarden: 8/5/2015 12:46:53 AMI am sick and tired of people joining through match making then going AFK and making me and some other random do all the work. Or both of them going AFK and me doing all the work, -blam!- that shit keep it as it is.
-
Didnt read all of it soo im not sure if you mentioned OPTIONAL. by all means add optional matchmaking but i want no part of it for endgame content. I already have to back out of the weekly heroic strike a few times just to find people who actually do it.
-
No there would be to many trolls people that don't do anything afk people noobs people that don't know anything and you wouldn't be about to solo the raid
