It's really annoying to have to wait for people to get on to form a group for Raids, Nightfalls and Heroic strikes, especially since we can't go to a public area like the Tower and recruit due to the voice chat restrictions imposed in the game. Not to mention it's hard to find people of the right level as well. Matchmaking would make this so much easier and make getting gear and leveling it less of a hassle.
The Matchmaking could look for players of similar level to match you with to make sure you're not going in with anyone too low to survive, as well as balance the group by diversifying the classes, bringing in 2 of each class for raids (2 titan, 2 warlock, 2 hunter) and one of each for the Nightfall and Heroic strikes.
While on the topic of Strikes, it would also behoove the player base if we could finally be able to voice chat with our random fire team members instead of having to form parties through the dashboard (X360 and XB1 versions). This should also be allowed in the Tower as well so those who are looking to form specific groups of people for Raids can do so much easier by simply talking to those around them. Being able to openly communicate with others is a staple of MMOs. Not allowing us to do is counter intuitive towards the game play in Destiny.
Also, we should be able to choose the difficulty of the Raids between normal and hard. The same goes for regular strikes as well. We should be able to play strikes up to level 30 as well as difficulty modifiers for players to challenge themselves. The higher the level and difficulty modifiers, the greater the rewards.
With the addition of PoE, matchmaking should be added for all modes of that activity as well, not just level 28.

Still this
-
We really need this, if I wanted to do the nightfall thing alone I would be playing another crapy single player game other then this
-
The point of any game is to kick back and have fun- but spending 1/2 (or more) of your time online trying to organize a group is frustrating and stressful... le sigh... If matchmaking isn't going to happen at least designate a spot to stand in at the tower if you are looking for a group!
-
I've been playing since the beginning of year one, I've only ever done crotas end once and have done no other raids, the matchmaking would allow more people to enjoy the full destiny experience, rather than just grinding heroic strike in hopes of getting higher gear. I love this game but the grind gets boring and makes me lose interest in the game, if they don't implement this in destiny, I hope it comes out in destiny two

I understand the need for cooperative as oppose to matchmaking, but at least even the ratio. It would make playing a whole lot more enjoyable for those who aren't quite into pvp or looking for players to game with and are the old school type who play to get away from the hustle of everyday life by playing pve. I think only adding matchmaking to the weekly nightfall strikes and keeping the rewards the same would be more than enough. It would allow us pve players an even chance to obtain rare and/or special gear that we wouldn't otherwise have to repeat missions for ( :s), and with each class. Even more you could make the Playlist generate a random enemy and boss map for boss battles, like "Nightfall" implies and that also contain more challanges or objectives prior to defeating those bosses, like the Warsat on the Fallen S.A.B.E.R strike or the public events during patrols, implied by "The Darkness grows stronger." I would leave raids and prison of elders as they are because they are what everyone would wish for a challenging boss battle and an amazing loot loaded event to be, better gained by cooperative skill and diverse players. Although a matchmaking break out mode would be epic in prison of elders with random groups of enemies breaking out and battling each other, the guardians job being to put them down before time runs out. With the age of triumph launch update, the weekly Story Playlist is great, but it's a feature that could go in the strike playlist choices, instead of having to go into each map and select the mode itself. It's practical but definitely not enough. I hope that one day in an update matchmaking will be part of nightfall strikes at the very least.

My biggest issue with Destiny is the lack of Matchmaking. I don't care if they think it can't be done with randoms, let that be my choice like every other game has, finding people to do raids, nightfalls etc on a working schedule is too much of a chore. Please add it
-
This would honestly help so much because I barely have any friends that play video games!!
-
Bottom line! Matchmaking will make life much easier for destiny players. And at the end of the day it's about the players. Sorry bungie.
-
Even The Division was smart enough to add matchmaking. Probably because they all played Destiny and knew how annoying it was. Matchmaking should be a feature for all missions, raids, etc. When you select the mission, just like it used to allow you to choose level there should be an option to turn on matchmaking for that mission. Or at least have a board like they do in Division.

At By the way vaultbrain, why are you complaining about this problem You have raid gear and are part of a clan lol xD.
-
I love the game, but I just get mad at this problem. I actually quit the game because of this from December 2015 to the April 12, the first day of the April update.
-
Bungie PLEASE add matchmaking to raids I see everyone in the tower, crucible, and strikes have kings fall raid gear and I don't have much. I just don't have friends who play.
-
I have played Destiny for a long time, but I have only ever played a Nightfall once. And I have never, ever, played a Raid. It's literally as simple as my friends don't play the game. I have sunk enough money into this game that I feel cheated I have not accessed what many consider the best part of the game. I have worked my ass off to get to a decent light level by farming and doing daily missions. World of Warcraft has already done this.
-
That is why I quit playing. No matchmaking. As had been said a lot of people don't have time for clans and such.
-
Edited by schloozer: 1/9/2016 9:13:10 PMI love this game but I'm a family man so gaming time has to be flexible. This makes commitment to clans difficult. Everyone keeps telling me that the endgame content is where Destiny really shines and yet it may as well be locked out for casual gamers who don't have a consistent fireteam ( can't get gear without a fireteam, can't get on a fireteam without the gear). It's a no brainer to me - optional matchmaking all the way and acitvely encourage the use of mics.
-
I have returned to Destiny and I am enjoying it. The new updates I feel work and it finally got a story behind it. But Bungie's attitude to No matchmaking on Raids annoys me. I used to play WOW alot and it has a raid finder after much feedback I dont see why Bungie doesnt do the same. Raiding with strangers is a fun complex way of doing raiding. All people need is a headset so we can hear everyone. It is not that difficult. It is really the missing piece of the Jigsaw.

Edited by THE_BOOTY_BANDlT: 1/2/2016 7:38:07 AMWhy am I not allowed to even try? I've put probably 1,500 hours into destiny because I really enjoy it, I do a ton of strikes and patrols and farming and such. I find all of that really fun. I've always wanted to do raids and nightfalls but I can't do them because I can't get a group. I have all the expansions but I've never done a hard mode raid, crota, skolas, or the kings fall raid. All because grouping up is next to impossible. I HATE lfg websites with a passion because they don't work worth a damn and take forever. The other option is joining a clan, but if you join a small clan you need to be able to work on their schedule, which is not doable for me and for most other players. If you join a big clan, then everything is really impersonal and you're still going to be playing with people you've never talked to before and may as well be random. If you find people in that big clan that you can tolerate, then you can add them, but what are the odds of you being able to put them all together into a fireteam at the same time? All I'm saying is, putting a group together is simply not feasible for many players (Hence the reason this topic has so many posts). How hard is it to just put a switch in there somewhere that I can flip when I want to have matchmaking, and flip it off when I want to use a group? I love this game so much that I would literally be willing to pay the price of another expansion just to get matchmaking. It is not even possible for me to care less about doing poorly in a nightfall or raid with a pick up group. I would just be happy that after all this time, endgame content is no longer kept from me. I also don't really understand the players who are opposed to this, turning matchmaking off would just leave everything exactly like it is now. It seems like the only people who oppose matchmaking (Even though optional matchmaking would have absolutely no effect on them whatsoever) are people who have clans or IRL friends, or magically have luck getting groups on 3rd party websites and the recruitment forum. There is absolutely no argument against simply letting people try. EDIT: With regards to AFKers, would it really be that difficult to autokick somebody who hasnt moved in more than a few minutes? Or failing that, to simply offer a prompt, to the active players, to kick the person who is allegedly AFK?
-
I know I will not be buying anymore of their games or upgrades unless they change this ridiculous rule. if your worried about the random afk noob, then have a vote kick system and get a new player works on other mmo's.
-
I have to agree some sort of matchmaking or even a guy in the tower or a fracking notice board ya know help wanted bungie wants raids to be elitest though so its never going to happen. I read somewhere that a bunch of randoms completed the raids yet bungie say this is impossible so to summarise at least add something to help us non clan players seriously black ops 3 and halo guardians is out how long do you think you can keep your players with dick moves like this but as long as we keep making you money right frack what we think
-
Not having some form of matchmaking for the raids in Destiny is obserd. Many of us long time players are not able to come on the game at the same time as our friends. This excludes thousands of gamers from experiencing a vital part of Destiny. It also stops many of us from reaching the max level in the game, this is another glaring problem for fans of the game. I must say if this issue is not addressed soon I will take my money elsewhere.
-
It's completely absurd that there is only match making for weekly vanguard strikes. The rewards aren't that great. Everybody needs raid gear to get better and stay competitive at destiny.
-
bump!
-
Y not ? It's not hurting anyone.. Adding in-game matchmaking will take away people going to bungie.net or any LFG site. Which means they will be getting paid less. I don't know how that works but I'm sure it works like that
-
It's not like the entire system needs to be changed. Sometimes I want to play solo. Sometimes I want to find people to play with. Having an option to switch between matchmaking and private play is all we ask for. And if I can find a completely random group to raid with on a website and can complete both raids with them, why wouldn't matchmaking work? We're already doing our own matchmaking. It's just slow and annoying.
-
It's impossible to form raids without matchmaking, maybe you get lucky after 20 minutes of posting online. Wouldn't spend a penny more on this game without actual matchmaking
-
Without some sort of endgame matchmaking system i am going to quit playing because i can no longer grind for loot without it and not enough people are on when i am on to form a party and im afraid if this does not happen i am done playing i am already extremely bored just because i can't do endgame content unless i have 6 friends online add this or your community will slowly die off!
