So, in high school, I had some issues staying awake in class following sophomore year. I would be paying attention in class, then I'd wake up, realizing I had fallen asleep.
I figured I'd grow out of it, but it hasn't gone away.
Just so you know, I am not narcoleptic, and I stay awake normally. Just in some classes in college now, I'm missing some material. Not much now, but I hate that I'm falling asleep and could possibly miss some very important information.
So, any advice on how to stay awake that doesn't involve caffeine?

Well, there's the obvious "Get enough sleep the night before." But otherwise just make sure you're sitting straight up in your chair, not slouching, and try to keep your attention fully and firmly on the instructor.
