This is part 2 of my own Fixing Destiny Series. Before you read this one, I stress for you to read http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/73698720/0/0/1 this one first, as it explains what this is all about. Also, If you want to message me personally, Search for Godin Intaki on Skype. So, RNG. I'm on the fence about it. Low level, and intermediate level gear are fine as mainly RNG drops. People are going to be out in the field most of the time trying to get higher levels. As they level up, they will get stronger items, so it actually works.Resources (like spinmetal for regular enemies, and ascendant materials for bosses) are fine as well, as as you're naturally going to be killing enemies and bosses (if not, you're not really playing the game), and that cuts down on having to do farming paths, but rather, you can just play the game. HOWEVER, making it to where the only way to get better items, especially in the endgame is through RNG is ridiculously stupid. Think about this: I've been on my main a lvl 28 (almost 29, just decided to stop waiting and is grinding out iron to get to 29) for weeks now, as I have to rely on RNG to get my raid gear to hit 30. Also, There's two exotics I wanted since the start of the game: Pocket infinity, and The Last Word. Both I have to get lucky just to even get (and worse, I have to get lucky 11 times for PI, seeing one of the parts of the bounty is to get 10 rare Fusion Rifles, and I for weeks now have been doing so, yet still is not done with it). There's no way to find the guns, no way to start a decent bounty that doesn't rely on luck, none of that. It's based on how lucky can I get. That would mean that I could technically never get either gun, even with 10 thousand hours of game time, I still could never get them. That needs to change. there needs to be a structured path to get high end content that doesn't rely on just pure luck (And just to be clear, I don't think that they should be removed, as an option, but rather, not be the only option). I would suggest that Raid Gear and Exotic gear gets vendors in the tower, and you could earn a special currency (say doing generic exotic bounties or weekly tasks to get "exotic marks", or earning X Raid token from doing a specific Raid, earning them after each checkpoint, and finding them in chests), where all (maybe most, and have some as special missions or strikes, or even raids, and completing them gives said exotic or raid gears) of the gears, and you could buy them just like you would for Legendaries through faction vendors. Fixed. Now, everyone has a chance to get a exotic or raid gear or weapon (and of their choice) if they work for it, and if you get lucky, you can still get one through RNG. Everyone is happy. Discuss Peace, Godin EDIT: After to talking to some people, I have come with this: The raid idea from above is fine. However, the exotic one is not. Rather than having just the weapons, he would sell exotic bounties. However, the full lists for both would stay. I would also consider building a new part to the tower (or maybe use the event area) to have these vendors (the raid and exotic vendors) in, as otherwise, over crowding of vendors would probably occur.

Well seems like Destiny wants you to play the game for as long as possible, so you have to come up with a suggestion that would keep players playing this game longer. My suggestion is that player should be able to buy raid gear after completing the raid (possibly on hard). The raid gear will be available to buy from the corresponding faction at Rank 4. Each piece of raid gear will cost 200 vanguard marks. The reason I propose this solution is because it uses a currency the game already has, it's time consuming, and most importantly it rewards hard work + time that the players put into the game. Since raid gear is only available at Rank 4 it will prevent players who have multiplayer characters from exploiting the vanguard mark currency since they most likely won't have all 3 characters at Vanguard Rank 4, but if they do then they probably deserve the gear anyways. Since each piece costs 200 vanguard marks then at the least most players will have to wait 2 weeks to buy the piece of equipment they want. This should typically keep players pre-occupied for 8-12 weeks, and possibly 2 weeks at the least if someone puts in enough effort to reach to Vanguard Rank 4 with multiple characters. With each new raid that comes out they should make the raid gear available from different factions. This way people spend more time on the game trying to level up different factions instead of just trying to level up one faction so they can get all of the raid gear. Following up on that idea, to prevent players from exploiting that system, the higher level raid gear should only be accessible to players who meet a level requirement or have proof of beating raid that corresponds with the gear. This way people have to beat the raid in chronological order, and they would need to spend time trying to get the lower level gear before obtaining the higher level gear.
