Just would like to shoot this out for an experiment. I'd like to know what you guys played before Destiny came out!
If you played both, which one did you play more?
EDIT: A cheeky Guardian has decided to necrobump this post, and has now caused me great distress. I've formed a multitude of ulcers in the last 15 minutes.
But I still am curious, even though it's been months- so the post is here to stay.

Definitely played more CoD than halo. Also played counterstrike.
-
No option for "all of the above"?
-
I started with halo CE. When halo 2 came out with multiplayer, I used the name I created for offline play for online not knowing this will Carry over and follow me. I am known as spartin83 in xbl since then.
-
Only FPS I played online were on PC, Counter-strike since 2000 Unreal Tournament Quake 3 Before Destiny I was sure FPS wasn't for me on console, it's the 'RPG' part that made me take the bait.
-
haven't played halo since the second one. never really played COD. tried a few but wasn't my thing. i have been a Battlefield player since Bad Company 2. i prefer the extra physics. it was my go to FPS until BF4 needed a case of raid to play.

Edited by Seldser: 10/20/2014 2:10:51 PMI'm going to say other. While I used to be a Halo player, I fell out of interest and found myself playing Indie games on the PC more often than anything else. This is mostly because the FPS genre had begun to feel stale, but also because Indie developers take bigger risks since they do not have a publisher breathing down their back

You can be both!
-
Edited by jerkcore: 10/20/2014 2:09:43 PMVoted other, but I've played both, and more. I'll play almost any shooter, ever since doom & quake. Love em. I didn't play a lot of pvp, though. Only occasionally, and only because of a friend or family member. Destiny is the first game that I've played pvp without prompting.

Edited by Gahzirra72: 10/20/2014 1:54:49 PMI played both almost equally. I played Halo over a longer time period but with less frequency. I had several friends that were into COD. Honestly, I didn't really use those to put a benchmark on Destiny though. Many of the elements I noticed were similar to Borderlands. In the end, for me at least, it still bears a greater similarity to that than Halo or COD.

Played both but Halo a lot more. I was in the MLG scene since Halo 2. CoD I played competitively as well but only on Gamebattles.
-
I played halo and cod for years before destiny. Still not super good in the crucible but i guess those two games helped me keep an above 1 kd in destiny's pvp

Edited by Drayfitt: 10/20/2014 1:22:03 PMIf only there was a both option... But anyways I played multiple Halo and COD games and greatly enjoyed both franchises. My very first console was the original Xbox that I played Halo CE on, but I then switched to PC and played COD4 and WoW. I then later switched to the PS3 but then got an Xbox 360 which i played Halo (Halo 3, Reach, Halo 4) & COD (MW3, BO, BO2) on up until now. Now I have a PS4. It has been a long road. Right now I'm enjoying Crucible in Destiny a ton, it's all I play right now really.
-
Bought my xbox to play Halo and loved it. Then switched to COD when MW2 came out and played nothing but that until Destiny. Thanks to Destiny I have no desire to play or buy Advanced Warfare. I will probably get Halo MCC though for the nostalgia factor :) Halo LAN parties were always a fun time!
-
Started out in CoD, switched to BF. BF4 was broken, never got into it. Went to NFS:Rivals after that until Destiny released.
-
Edited by Psyko_Dad: 10/20/2014 12:47:22 PMPlayed halo 2 only half the campaign in co-op at a friend's place. (Halo is an okay franchise) Played COD4 (which was good) and MW2 (which was meh). Did have some after that, but i hate the games. I was more into Socom (PS2), Killzone, BF and M.A.G. Edit: talking about shooters specifically. Got a pretty varied games library

Edited by Kallen99: 10/20/2014 12:04:58 PMThis is the first Fps game I'm really getting into.
-
I have played tons of series other then CoD and sports games.
-
Dark souls.
-
Both?
-
My daughter and I played co-op thru the first Halo start to finish. She was 9 at the time and because of that it's my most memorable video game ever. I'm 54 and have been playing since pong. We still write "RH" on cards (B-day, Xmas, etc.) for "Remember Halo". I played COD 2 all the way through on veteran. I was "Snot Bubble" on Quake 2 and 3 and was hooked bad on capture the flag. TONS of other great video game memories as well. For me, anyway, Destiny is shaping up well.
-
I got xbox live earlier this year and put about 34 days into cod and then got this game
-
S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Metro
-
I played the Halo series from its start. I joined XBL in 2007 and started playing H3 online at that time. I played Halo primarily but played CoD with a few friends. I switched to CoD right before Reach was released and played that up to the present.
-
So in other words, how many people is destiny their first game?
-
CE to H3 are amongst the best games I have played in over two decades of gaming.
