Although i completely respect the way you presented your arguement...I cannot support it. I read many of the replies and it seems to be the same misconception...folks are of the opinion that Bungie is supposed to be perfect in everything they do whilst making this game, must not limit a players creative out-of-the box thinking to defeat this or that, and other nonesense im not even going to get into. Let me sum this um very simply. They changed it because they dont want folks having the option to completely ignore every mechanic of the Templar fight THAT easily. I completely agree with their decision to do this. On a side note however... Why they chose NOT to fix the Atheon glitch and the mission end timer for the raid at the same time as fixing this is beyond comprehension UNLESS those two things require a patch rather than a hot fix such as this.

 • Thank you for disagreeing in a manner which is both civil and demonstrates the thought you gave to it. I think you've raised a significant point. If I designed the encounter and people were bypassing it in ways I did not anticipate, I might feel my work was being nullified. But Destiny raiders were given access to the Vault and simply told "Here, find your own way." No tutorials, no hints, there aren't even combat logs to consult. I love this. But, it means players have absolutely no idea what the 'right' and 'wrong' ways to do the encounter are. They have only what works and what doesn't. The platforms for all anyone knew were part of the original plan. You could still die up there, but it was relatively more safe. Templar was still hitting us there, so we're some Minotaurs. Just more manageable. Then we get the hotfix which includes one line: kill volume added to platforms. No reasoning offered, just a bulletin that it was changed, so we have to infer why, and we don't know if it's a placeholder fix, or a permanent one. And the fix doesn't make the strategy less effective, it totally removes it. Now everyone who previously enjoyed finding an alternate strategy which helped their friends complete the encounter are left feeling that their creative thinking is less valuable now and may be again with future raids. In the absence of any other messaging from Bungie, it sends one clear message: We have the paths for success plotted out, if you find a way around we don't want, we will take it right off the table. For a game that was marketed as open and flexible, this is a problematic contradiction. Players smell contradiction, and its not fun.
