The Devil You Know + Explosive Rounds

I just got the Devil You Know hand cannon with an Explosive Rounds bonus and Zen Moment bonuses. Explosive Rounds = Volatile payload explodes on impact, dealing a portion of a weapon's damage in an area. Zen Moment = Causing damage with this weapon increases its stability. Question 1: How much more damage does it do? Does anyone know around what percent of the weapon's damage it adds? Question 2: How much more stability does Zen moment add per hit? Thank you!

  • Explosive rounds split the damage of the weapon 50% to target, 50% splash in a small area (5-7 feet?) around the target. The target does take damage from the splash. It does not add to the base damage, that's still based solely on Impact. Stagger impact of the Explosive Rounds is higher than that of normal rounds for that gun. (This is the biggest benefit IMO.) If you hit the ground or wall near an enemy, if they're near enough to the explosion, they will take the splash damage. Enemies in PvE often group up tightly enough for the splash to hit multiple ones. Raid and Strike adds being probably the best examples. I like Explosive Rounds on my X-RYL Scout. I have a TDYK, but it does not have Explosive Rounds, so I can't speak to that specific pairing. But overall I think Explosive Rounds is a good option.

    • Explosive rounds is the SHIT! The splash damage is negligible for higher level activities(raid/nightfall) but they give the gun a minor "stagger" effect, which can save you from a charging group of knights or a Pretorian that wants the D and won't leave you alone. I don't know about Zen moment, my DYK doesn't have that option, but Explosive rounds are definitely the tits.

      • One question. Has anyone been on the receiving end of any weapon with the explosive rounds bonus? For PVP purposes, does the explosion temporarily get in the way of your sight?

        • I have a scout rifle with explosive rounds and I don't think much of it. I had not looked at the damage output as others have stated but the flash, for me, makes it harder to stay on-aim (for headshots).

        • Don't think it adds any damage. It just takes a portion of the base damage and spreads it over a very small area. Basically the enemies have to be up each others butt to hit more than 1. At least that's what it felt like to me. So for crucible I think they are really bad. For pve, not really worth it IMO.

          • I've yet to get Explosive Round for my DYN, but I did have it for a sniper a while back and the explosion did about half the normal damage to the main target, and then less than that to the others around it.

            • Explosive rounds are garbage. Whatever precision damage you do, you loose about half your damage with explosive rounds. Example, I was using Timur's Lash on some lo levels and was doing around 900 With explosive I was doing 38. These numbers are off by a lot cause o do t remember exacts
