Any decent PvP player knows this is an ignorant comment, not to mention blatantly wrong.
Is losing fun?
Is getting killed over and over again for the sake of other players' enjoyment fun?
I'm not an elitist, I'm not a "pro l33t hax" player, stats are a representation of actions in a game so basing a player's skill on the only factual evidence is only way to determine ones skill besides actually watching them play.
I'm not just talking about k/d either. Though it should be taken into consideration, so should win/loss, score per game average, kills per game avg, avg orbs dropped per game, and other stats that show a player's consistency throughout all games.
To say these stats "don't matter" is ignoring all their games averaged over their entire playtime, I don't see a more fair representation of a skill.

Edited by Actually the Worst Player: 10/16/2014 2:50:25 PMSo when I lose in control cause half my team has a 2.5+ k/d with 2 caps between them they are good because they have a high k/d? I can't tell you how many times I've led a team with at least 8 captures, while the rest of the team averages 3, with most if those being caps after spawn flips. Kill/death ratio is not as important as win/loss ratio or score per game/score per minute.
