So, I've been playing casually since launch and as soon as I hit 20 with my Warlock I decided to pick the FWC to level up with. However, I was most looking forward to getting my Vanguard rep up, so I have run dozens of bounties and strikes in order to do so. Having not yet hit halfway to level 1 Vanguard I assumed that the grind of Destiny was a long term process. Ok, fair enough. But then a curious thing happened. I decided to roll an alt Titan. As I progressed up to level 20 via the (terrible) story missions I also did a few patrols and noticed that I hit level 1 Vanguard quite quickly. Hmm? How odd. My new character is already at level 1 but my main character is not yet lvl 1 after a billion hours played. Erm, it couldn't be that because I have the FWC bond equipped I have stopped accruing any Vanguard rep since level 20, could it? No, no, this isn't possible. I mean every bounty I accept or strike I run tells me that I will be rewarded with Vanguard rep! Alas, the sinking feeling in my stomach told me it was true. If you equip a piece of faction class armour, you not only gain rep with that faction, you will gain no rep whatsoever with the main factions in the game (like the Vanguard). I now have hundreds of Vanguard marks and I'm not even level 1 with them. And I am close to level 2 in FWC but have no crucible marks to spend with them. So, don't you make the same mistake. Don't waste a month like I have :(
