Is anyone else getting their ass kicked on Moon Defend Warsat public events? Moon Patrol is a low level patrol and I've had no problems with any of the public events... even when I was only leveled in the teens. Now all of the sudden (for about 2 weeks???) if I'm on the Moon, in a Defend the Warsat public event... I get the absolute shit kicked out of me.
I'm a level 28, have great guns and never had an issue until a week or 2 ago when I started to just get pummeled. I was talking to a buddy in party chat telling him about the ass beating I was taking and he said he hadn't noticed it.... but then a few days later he was with me on the moon... Defend the Warsat Public and we were both taking a severe beating. The sheer number of enemies was astonishing. Felt like there were 10 shielded up Cat Captains on the ground the entire time. My friend was like "WTF is this shit about??" All I could do is laugh and say "I know right???"
Seriously... I'm not seeing this on Venus and Mars (both higher level planets) so I have no idea what's going on .... maybe they put a "kick me" sign on my cape??? LOL!
Anyone else noticing this on the Moon recently?

Agreed. The problem had been when the warsat is near the hell mouth, with both fallen and hive. Also hard in the same way in earth, when you have to kill Urzok. It's not hard in the other moon areas.

Only one I have trouble soloing on occasion is "Eliminate Target" events where the target is shielded (usually a captain). There is simply no way to put enough fire on them with one person before his shield comes back. Target usually makes several checkpoints. If anyone has a good strategy for this, I'm all ears. The warsat events are easy if you know how to run the clock down. First of all, if you're soloing, you have to stay in the circle to get the warsat clock to tick up. Then, as others have mentioned, leave a weak enemy or two at the end of the wave and just let them run the clock. You can shave around 20-30 seconds off with this method, usually meaning you will complete the event before the final hardcore wave. Also, if you have a "kill them all now" super (Arc blade, Nova bomb super, titan smash) save it for the stealth vandals when they rush in.
-
The more people that you have the quicker you will complete it. That is the only way to avoid them some.
-
The way those public events appear work is the more/faster you kill the harder the enemies get. Eventually if you kill them fast enough you will not be able to put out enough damage to kill them, and they will kill you very easily. I find that if I have to solo the warsat it's easier to kill everything but one mob from the first group and wait. That one mob will eventually walk away and another group will spawn. Just repeat those steps and usually by the third or fourth group you will be done.

Edited by jester343: 10/16/2014 4:18:58 PMA similar occurrence for me in Skywatch. Went to wait for the public event. About every 5 seconds there would be hallowed knights, wizards, captains...then nothing after maybe a minute. Edit: the Wars at was not there, so this was not related to a public event, just seemed like a freak occurrence.

its hella fun defending both hives and fallen :D
-
If your talking about the one where you have both fallen and hive then yea that ones a bitch, I never have a problem when its just the fallen.
-
When the first wave comes, kill all but 1 , run around the warsat (avoid the one you left alive) wait for 100.
-
If it's not happening from the very beginning, it should mean that you're being awesome. Enemy ships drop off a new batch of cannon fodder as soon as you mop up the last one. Cheesing Warsats can be done by leaving the last enemy on each wave alive -- he'll wander off after a few moments, but it'll keep the next wave from dropping for that much longer. Personally, I'm pretty jealous. Your experience sounds like a good time. =D

Yeah that captain is a real dick. Put 7 ghorn shots in his face and didn't even remove his shield.... Started for me right around when the dlc dropped.
-
If you kill the waves quickly enough you get a captain that can't be beat too. I think it's Randal's father.
-
I noticed this once I was around lvl 25. It seems to me that the trick is not to kill all of the low level enemies so fast. I take my time killing the first 2 waves. Then when the third wave hits I immediately send multiple rockets at them. And then my warlock void super, from a distance. If you go slow during the first 2 waves the timer will be almost to 100 by the time the third wave starts.

Edited by 無い: 10/16/2014 10:36:33 PMNever had a problem with it yet EDIT: It's probably the location. Hellmouth warsat is a HUGE pain and I have died doing it there
-
Have you seen Randal The Infraggable Vandal out in the Forgotten Shores. Comes out of his cave with his pet shank and eats every bullet you throw at him.
-
Lol git gud and launch a fkn rocket at the dropships as soon as the enemies appear nub.
-
Try not to kill the enemies too fast. Each wave you kill spawns another, harder wave. Try to survive out the early waves by strafing the warsat.
-
I noticed this too. I was farming coils, event pops, so I go over, two other dudes already there, all lvl 27s. Waves start coming in and it's pretty intense. I actually died and had to be revived halfway through. Seemed like a hundred people were shooting at me. I've solo'd those events in the past.
-
The only difficult one I have come across in the moon is when you are fighting both fallen and hive, because they come from opposite sides and flank you pretty much.
-
I have noticed that the Warsat events on the moon are more difficult than other places, but I have taken to just launching a couple rocket shots at the shit right as it is about to offload the enemies. They are all bunched together and I can kill most of them at once.
-
The only time I couldn't do an event on the moon solo, it was one of the extraction crews missions. For some reason it spawned a super vandal. Just a Reaver Vandal, but it took about 300 machine gun bullets, and probably 150 Suros bullets. And that's just what I remember. Video is on my activity feed I think.

I've never had a problem soloing Defend the Warstat type Events. At level 27, I soloed one on the moon while farming Helium just last night. The only problems I ever have with soloing events is the "Kill the Target" types if I have the wrong element weapons on me and the target happens to be a shielded mob. The other one is Vex Sacrifice types.

I notice that some majors, not all, have insane denfense boosts. It's more noticeable when doing an event and you have swarms of majors coming for you. For example: I've unloaded a clip of exotic machine gun into a lv8 major vandal to only do about a 1/10 of damage to total health. As far as the events, still seems fine. It's the majors that can -blam!- you up
-
You were defending the Warsat too effectively and were deemed OP, therefor Bungie has nerfed you. Soz.
-
You're just bad? Idk i'm lvl 30 and don't notice anything different... they still die quickly
-
Unless Bungie have changed something in the last update I've noticed nothing, I use ward of dawn on the invisibles and then batter them when they run into it.

after making an "impossible public events this morning, i quite agree with you. but i had this issue with way too many and too strong enemies never on the Moon, but only on Mars. seems to be either a glitch/bug or some of these events are just way harder than the ones before and after.
