Installation 01 is a made-from-scratch Halo Game for PC, a free and community based game open to all. Our objective is to have a free Halo game that plays like Halo 3, but contains elements from any or all Halo games. Thus far, we've been making great progress with the creation of a testable version. But the slowest, and possibly hardest part is putting it all together in Unity Engine, so we need more coders, and we are actively looking for a few more 3D artists.
Are you a coder or modeler? Do you like Halo?
Then join up! There is no money involved, but there is the excitement of helping build the ultimate homage to the Halo series!

Bump, how are you doing?
-
Fan made Halo already came out. It was called Halo 4. Kapow

I could provide modeling assistance. If not, I'll hook you up.
-
I'll model for you if you want.

Be very, very careful to refrain from breaking any patents or copywrites on intellectual property. Microsoft could, and would, sue your ass into the next dimension.

Hello

Eww unity? That engines pretty rubbish

Another project like this exists: Halo: Contingency. Look for them.

Didn't know you were a part of this. Never really messed with C# mostly Python. Very cool though.

I'm pretty sure I can code something along the lines of a text in the screen somewhere saying.... Something. Am I in?

My uncle is a lawyer for Microsoft. Cease and desist letter sent.

How are you guys doing on concept artists?
-
Go away. You have posted threads about this for the last year, and little to no progression has been shown.
-
I like the hud size except for the motion tracker that could be lil bigger. To bad that game isn't on console I'd probably play it as much as the MCC. I'd help if I could code but I have barely any skill in it.

I'm giving this thread the bump that it deserve but doesn't need

I have no knowledge of coding but I hope this takes off and you and your team succeed in your project. I'll be looking forward to playing this in the future.
-
I know a bit of Java and Python, but unfortunately, I'm nowhere near qualified to help you guys out. Still though, love to see community involved activities like this. Best of luck and please keep us updated!

If its a free game, does that mean people will create their own dedicated servers or host them like TF2 or CS:S. How will you advertise this? You really need to advertise hard to get this out and I suggest if you get to that stage to make small trailers of slight gameplay with information rather than the realistic cutscene trailers we get nowadays for the worst games of the decade. Can't wait for this though, Halo 3 was amazing. Add character customisation and you'll win the internet.

Hahaha! I have somewhat decent skills with C#. I did make a shabby grenade launcher in unity (the explosions would send rubble flying and all that, but, there is no denying that it looked like shit). If I learned anything useful in my IT class over the course of the last two years, I would offer to help, but, my skills have somewhat diminished since then and I have nothing to offer. Good luck with your project. I will be keeping a close eye on it.

I'm not competent enough in coding to help. I'm in the third year of High School programming (though it does work with C#, the highest game we've yet made is Yahtzee). But, ill support it. No idea on how you're avoiding copy rights, but I'll support it.
-
Well I'm doing C++ not C#. That's too bad.

Edited by Onion Beetle: 10/18/2014 3:15:55 PMI do't have enough knowledge in coding to contribute to this, but you have my support. I recommend you start a kickstarter, as I for one would donate.

I'm not a coder but but that's awesome! How do you get away with it though? Copyright wise.
